ND needed Kizer's TD overturned!?

You're correct. Said the same thing last night because I didn't think the ND defense could contain Stanford for even 30 seconds. A shame.

30 sec. left, 1st and goal from the 1: Kizer keeper stuffed for no gain.
23 sec. left, 2nd and goal from the 1: pass complete to Fuller for touchdown. PENALTY: holding, 10 yards.
18 sec. left, 3rd and goal from the 11: pass complete to Robinson for 6 yards.
12 sec. left, 4th and goal from the 5: corner fade pass incomplete

Funny up above cause that seems like something similar would happen. I actually thought he was short anyways and we shouldn't have got the score I was happy then saw they gave us TD and I was nervous. The play that really hurt was face mask at end. When lose by 2 you could literally re think every little play though. Tough finish good year

The announcers were confounded that the ruling wasn't overturned and I've heard others say the same thing. The problem is there was absolutely no camera angle that showed that the ball did NOT cross the goal line before he was down. If they had overturned the TD where would they have marked the ball? Again, no camera angle showed where the ball could have been marked short of the goal line. It would have been a guess and you don't overturn the ruling on the field based on a guess. That's why the refs said the ruling "stands" as opposed to the ruling being confirmed. The fact that the announcers couldn't acknowledge that basic replay concept was astounding.
