ND Fans have sold out to Clemson.

Well, first off, thank you for a courteous response, especially coming after a night like last night when, for what seemed like the first time in ages, it actually sounded like a ND home game.

I think you make a lot of good points. I haven't been to a game for years, and the TV timeouts drove me nuts along with, I have to admit, the nearly endless playing of the Victory March. I, too, have no interest in the piped in music, but I think that's going to stay.

But I wonder about night games in general. They have cold night games at Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin, and they always seem to the packed.
On your last point, you assume that all night games are created like the “big ones” you see on TV. They aren’t. I have been at big night games at those venues (only once Wisky) and some have been great and some had 20k empty seats

That's a good point. I figured they were always sold out or nearly sold out.

I absolutely agree with you. I make no suggestion that piped in music is going to be abandoned. But a lot of people think it detracts from the overall game experience.
I have had a number of people tell me that they will not go to night games at ND because the late starts get them home in the early morning hours.

Thats probably the last people you need at a big game anyway. If your worried about what time you get home, I doubt your up screaming every time the other team has the ball. Your probably a “hey, sit down, I didn’t pay to standup” kinda fan.

Then people like you need to stop bitching about large numbers of opposing fans in the stands. I am explaining why that happens.

Please learn the difference between "your" and "you're."

5. Piped in music. I am probably showing my age here, but being forced to listen to rap music, Crazy Train, and some of the other selections is not a pleasant experience. It is an ongoing assault on the ears, and whether ND wants to admit it or not, it keeps people from attending the games.
Insert "kids get off my lawn" gif.

Cincy wasn't a night game and they had a ton of fans at the game

Clemson didn't have many fans there.

ND fans showed up. And were loud. It was great

Never have. I sell my tickets all the time. ND stadium and campus is a gift. It’s Mecca.

But when I do go, I stand and yell. When I go to a night game, I don’t care when I get home.

You can bet your ass I stay because you’re an ass. 😜

Getting to this thread a little late but I want to add 1 more thing. I think the biggest reason it took so long for this particular primetime game against a top opponent to sell out was because, at the beginning of the season, ND made the decision to require anyone who wanted to buy ND-Clemson tickets to also buy ND-Marshall tickets. A lot of fans simply were not interested in doing that, and by the time the ND-Clemson tickets were untangled from the Marshall game, ND was already 0-2 and fan enthusiasm for the rest of the season was pretty low. Had the ND-Clemson tickets gone on sale during the preseason without any other requirements, I think there's a good chance that game would have sold out then when season optimism was at its highest, or at the very least they would have sold a lot more tickets than they initially did.

I try to get to 2 games a year. It’s tough with flights and hotels. Post Covid flights are Uber expensive.

I ask every cab driver, waiter or hotel person have they been to a game. The answer is always no, too expensive.

Face value for big games Is 225.00 for lower tickets I believe. That’s double most big time schools tickets.

It’s set up a bit for blue bloods and traveling fans. Season tickets for 2 lower level seats is around 8k. That’s not cheap.

Imagine that there are a hell of a lot of people who have different ideas than you do. It's true.

That's fine. I was asked why people are not attending the games. You may think the music is great. Not everyone does. It's not really a "get off my lawn" situation. It's more "I don't want to deal with that so I just won't show up."

If you think playing rap music during timeouts is hurting attendance at college football games then you might just be 117 years old.

Just curious, what was the Civil War like in person?

Not quite accurate. There were plenty of opportunities for Clemson tickets through the lotteries. When they didn’t sell out, ND connected the second game to help the poor response to Marshall. (And it just wasn’t Clemson- Marshall as the only choice). After that Marshall game, Clemson tix were available straight up

Season tix all over CFB are way more expensive these days

What are you talking about? There weren’t any more Clemson fans at the game then other fans the usually come to ND.
This

The OP hasn’t returned since he started this thread. He has been full of shit in his posts the past 6 weeks. I called him out as soon as he created the “My brother saw ND fans selling out” narrative ….because it’s an impossibility. And anyone that watched the game saw that there was no orange wave. Clemson had 10k fans at most

Lol at this thread, I didn't see a speck of orange on TV and the stadium was rocking last night.

Some of you just love to bitch.
Come on man, all they showed on the TV was the student section waving their pom poms time after time. Never showed any other part of the stadium, never!

What about the light show? Were Clemson fans participating?

What about the raucous crowd after every big play for Notre Dame? Were Clemson fans rushing the field too?

Again, some of you just love to bitch.
