ND defense ranked 35th

Defense may have some issues, but they have been solid considering ND has a new DC and assistants on that side of the ball.
not so sweet when your head coach is supposed to be a defense master the last 2 dcs have been a downgrade from the 2 before then

defense is Top 10 in the country! what team are you watching! Big, fast, aggressive and excellently coached. Not since 1966 MSU defense has a team been this dominant.

if you have enough teams, then 35th is certainly elite! We just need more teams!

The offense and ST actually have helped the D out this year for multiple reasons.

When the offense doesn't score the other team doesn't press to try and score as hard. Also, the offense has been more ball control. The STs have been good and other teams have to typically go full length of the field.

What's alarming;
Tackling
how many 80+ yard td drives we give up, especially right after we score
dline regressing and LBs not improving at all
3rd and long play call/scheme
not creating turnovers

What's good:
secondary better than probably most expected
able to create a good amount of 3 and outs
depth is pretty solid

I feel like the D each week is close to taking a step forward and they just don't. I think the team is just poorly coached this year in a lot of areas preventing them from maximizing their abilities.

Poor tackling, linebackers are slow, secondary giving up big plays. Just a summary.
Freeman's the second coming of Rockne so don't worry, he will be fine without recruits, without an offense, and without a defense because you know he's nice and charismatic or something like that.
