Mike Singer predicts Bear Bachmeir all Irish

1. ND and Deuce did not part ways. We are still recruiting him and in his top group. He just wants to wait

2. ND offered Bear while we were the leader or co leader for Deuce because they really like him

3. ND doesn't think there is a big difference between the 2 because they said first one to commit gets the spot

4. Anything can happen still. It's not over with either, good or bad
Deuce got homesick fairly close to home and ended up going home. The thought process now is that south bend might be a very hard pull for him. It's not over but if that is the reason and he stays close to home so he can have success as a young man we should respect it.

Whether that's the reason or not.... everything I stated was true. We are still recruiting him and we are still in his top 3 and if he wanted to commit today we would take his commitment

He left for high school in August right before the season. The season did not start out well for the team. Huge difference than leaving for college

Agreed we will keep recruiting him, but let's stop the nil and ND can't get crap before it starts.

ND has made a fundamental shift in its recruiting strategy....and it is overdue. There is always a risk of the Dante Moore outcome in recruiting. But.....ND is aggressively taking measures to minimize the risk and maximize the results. Thats the way the big boys recruit. I would go so far as to say....keep recruiting the quarterback position beyond the two in the spotlight. They need to know this train is moving....and you have to jump on board to get a ride....it isn't sitting still like it did last year.

You think Deuce is a significant upgrade over Bear?
Don't give him the time of day, he's clueless. He bases his evaluation strictly on stars. He doesn't take into consideration coaching and development. Same with the bogus F+ ranking system. All I can say is the F+ was named appropriately. F for FAIL.

This was the philosophy under BK. And it netted us minimal impact talent which is why we could never compete with the tier 1 teams in the biggest games.

One of these days the brass at ND will realize that they have no leverage with 40+ offer prospects. And that they are going to take visits, they are going to seek the highest bidder, they are going to have demands, etc. Not participating in the game for these highly in demand prospects is only watering down the roster and that is why ND has a roster full of Bs and Cs with minimal national talent while their competitors are loaded with As and Bs and a roster full of nationally recognized stars.

Can't wait for another 9-3 season with a 2nd tier bowl and a #15 recruiting class and a #15 F+ finish. And apparently the fans love it, even the hardcore fans that browse this forum. The status quo is just great!

Mr. Gloom & Doom with his usual dose of paranoia and dark thoughts.

I am sick and tired of the incompetent dinosaurs calling the shots at the highest level at ND.

You want some more of that rainbow fairy tale smoke blown up your ass that ignores the facts and gives you good fee fees about ND.

Your manufactured "woe is ND" nonsense is anything but true. Go follow UGA. The dawgs might be able to live up to your ridiculous expectations.

You don't use facts. You insert your opinions and cite them as facts. 99% of the time, you are wrong. In reality, you are not an ND fan. Your vision of ND rises and falls based solely on ND's performance on the gridiron.

Have you been living under a rock the last 25 years?
No, unlike you, I have been living in the real world. You, however, live in a world where you demand perfection. You are totally unrealistic. All you do is criticize the players, coaches and administration of the school you profess to be a fan of. The problem is you.

I've been saying the same sh1t for 10+ years. I've been proven correct over and over and over again. The ROSTER is not good enough. There's no change. The dinosaurs at ND just let the calendar flip while doing business as usual (and raising the ticket prices of course)

And the fans are just supposed to stand idly by with a smile on their face pretending we're on a march to greatness while a once dominant college football brand withers away into mediocrity and while the college football world passes it by.

And I've been telling you the past ten years to go find another school to pull for. You hate everything about ND. All you do is criticize ND. ND doesn't need crappy fans like you.

I'm the bad fan for wanting ND to actually invest in their football product the way they expect their fans to? I'm the bad fan for wanting ND to win national titles, heisman trophy's, send the best talent to the NFL, and generally field one of the best products in the country? That makes me a bad fan who needs to find someone else to root for?

Does this make any sense?

Not a fan of the team. A day to day week to week month to month troll who regurgitates the same thing.

QB’s, more than any other position, are the most hyped and most likely to not pan out to expectations. The top schools understand this. Pick a handful of QB’s that you like and send out offers. First come, first serve. Secure a QB for competition purposes.

Think about it, a school has 4 scholarship QB’s over a 4 year recruiting span. 1 of those QB’s is likely starting for 2-3 years. It’s nice to have a generational talent at QB, but in reality they are few and far between. Having consistent high quality QB’s is more important In my opinion.

Anyway, back to Bear and Deuce. I think ND finds itself in a difficult scenario. But first, let's compare. Deuce is an elite talent with great measurables. However, he has a lot of work to do mechanics wise and from his film, he does not see the field well and uses his superior athletic ability to make up for it. Bear is someone with very good measurables, but not elite. However, his mechanics are much better and it looks like he sees the field better than Deuce at this time. With Minchey and Carr on the roster for the future, I suspect the thinking is ND wants to go for the more talented guy (Deuce) and give him 2-3 years to sit behind Minchey/Carr and develop. The guy is a ball of clay that needs to be molded. But from what I'm reading it sounds like Bear wants to commit to ND in the near future. Does ND take the commit knowing it might push Deuce away? Does Bear not commit, if ND is honest and says, we'll take your commit, but just know we're still recruiting Deuce? This will all depend on how confident ND is in landing Deuce. But as we saw last year, it sounded like they were very confident in getting D. Moore and then had to scramble to get Minchey.

Realistically if Minchey or Carr is the future, Bear or Deuce is likely a career backup at ND and eventually transfer. There’s always new QB recruits every year. Take whoever wants it.

What do you want in a backup QB? Someone that will not make mistakes. Deuce gives me Milroe vibes. Sure he may have athletic talent, but how is his ability to not throw interceptions?

Could play out that way. QB recruiting has become very difficult in the sense that it's become impossible to recruit more than 1 QB per class. Most high profile programs are now in a situation where they have to take 1 commit and can't recruit another, because if they do their current commit will go elsewhere. This is why it's important to try to get a high profile commit annually. However, even then that is no guarantee you'll have a good player at the QB position. Just look at Bama, they recruit as well as anyone, but this off-season they took in a transfer that I seriously doubt Saban wanted, but felt he needed to do to improve the QB room. ND has had the same problem. QB recruiting has been very good I would say, since the Weis years, but there's so many guys that didn't pan out.

Get over yourself. You are the epitome of the loud mouth peanut gallery. You must love getting spanked. Your posts are mostly opinion. ND has clearly been in the tier just behind Bama, Clemson, UGA and OSU the past 10 years. A great QB like OSU and Clemson used to get their NC is the next challenge. Let’s see how MF does.

I especially like your biased reactions with the commitment of KVA (“don’t get excited, it’s only one”) and the thread on Deuce yesterday (“this is why ND can’t compete with the big boys”). So when the ONE is favorable to ND, you crap on it; when it’s detrimental to ND you fly the distress flag for weeks.

Just keep playing South Park in your mom’s basement

Finding a QB good enough and confident enough as a Bear Bachmeier to follow a CJ Carr is a win win for Marcus Freeman.

Projecting the future pecking order of the QB room is very difficult with the portal and NIL. These kids have options not previiously available. The planning is more short term now as a result. We don't know who will be, or who is willing to be, the backup.

Why are we letting this idiot chaseball take over the forum and every thread? He clearly doesn't understand that Notre Dame is not a football factory, education comes ahead of football.

I’m as pissed as anyone that we haven’t won a title in 35 yrs, but when you say the brand is “withering away into mediocrity”, it doesn’t hold water because we’ve been very close the last decade. You post as though we’re light years away & we’re not. We ran into three juggernauts when we made it to the final/final fours. The college football world can’t be passing us by when we’re presently in the top 10 and have been involved in the title three times in eight years during the last decade. The coaching transition buys one bad year, if we stumble this year and continue to miss out on the playoffs, I’ll join your rage, until then, it’s rooted in horseshit.

We have a solid team most years. We have been missing a great QB. Let’s see where it takes us

Only pitfall I see is lack of protection can screw things up. Clausen had no protection either.
If Sam gets protected I like our chances a lot

Meanwhile my prediction that you can take to the bank is 1- bear is a better prospect than Deuce. Reasons are ability is close between the two but Deuce did not impress in three games this season and potentially has home nesting issues. I also predict with certainty that Bryce Underwood will go to Colorado. Absolutely

Revisionist history on your part. BK admitted to shopping down a different aisle and pretty much gave up on going after the top tier recruits. Freeman has changed that philosophy, and is recruiting those elite recruits.

Funny, BK, with all the advantages he has at LSU, no academic requirements, a talent rich state, he still got waxed in a prime time top 10 matchup. 😂

IMO Notre Dame does indeed shop down a different aisle, one that dudes like 6-Star(if there was a sixth star) QB Dante Moore and 5-Star DE Keon Keeley don't hang out in.

And BK beat Nick Saban in 2022 on his way to an SEC West title. We can all cherry pick.

By invest, you mean playing by rules that are either not permitted or not wiithhding the Notre Dane standards. Demanding the university adjust to these ways is simply not living in reality.

Well said Pat.

Bachmeir is "Big Arm. accurate. Especially on the deep ball. Really good athlete. Better athlete than Hank. Same type of competitor though. Built like a LB. Doesn't process as well as you would hope but he's week 4 junior. Can try to be a hero at times. Which can get him in trouble with unnecessary turnovers. But again he's a junior in week 4. Very good kid. High character. Loves football. Will work at whatever you need him to improve on without questions"
A good measuring stick for him will be when they play San Clemente in a couple weeks.
Tim Tebow....
