Yep, they missed on their guy for 25, plus their guy might be a little too mentally fragile for ND. Solid back up option. Now just need to hit home run in 26 class.

I am convinced that some of these recruits use ND as a prop to garner the offers that they really want....which nowadays involves NIL $$. Kind of like Kim Kardashian latching onto Kris Humphries (and the PR)...just to get to Kanye.

And the fact that we took Deuce's commitment before Bear Bachmeier's (if he ultimately commits) suggests that he was lower on NDs big board as well.

That's not a big difference at All in recruiting. And just because that's their ranking now doesn't mean it will be in the end.
Bear may end up ranked higher. Or deuce can be even more ahead
You can't take these rankings as fact. It's opinion based
What is the ND staff supposed to do? Gamble and wait? If Tennessee or some other SEC team offers Deuce's family big up front NIL $$$ and he goes that direction down the road, Marcus Freeman could end up with neither. If Bachmeier wants to commit now as is being reported, take him.
No doubt you take him. But it's still disappointing that we find ourselves in the situation yet again where we are having to settle for lower players on our board at the most critical position in the sport.
It has happened in 2 of 3 of MFs recruiting cycles now
What is the issue? We got to find out what the issue is and correct it. And not just brush it under the rug and pretend it isn't happening.

Most likely an up front NIL money issue the way it was with Dante Moore.
Disappointing to whom? What are you supposed to do? Focus on one kid and place all your eggs in one basket? You act as if there only a few QB's each cycle that can play CFB at Notre Dame's level.
Bachmeir is "Big Arm. accurate. Especially on the deep ball. Really good athlete. Better athlete than Hank. Same type of competitor though. Built like a LB. Doesn't process as well as you would hope but he's week 4 junior. Can try to be a hero at times. Which can get him in trouble with unnecessary turnovers. But again he's a junior in week 4. Very good kid. High character. Loves football. Will work at whatever you need him to improve on without questions"

Top 10 QB rated four stars across the board. We are not talking about some three star kid who is under sized with very little upside just look at his offers a lot of big boys want him
Solution. Beat OSU, beat USC, beat Clemson every time ND plays them and make some noise in the college playoffs, loosen up admissions a little and the 5 starts will come
Solution. Offer big up front money which is against the rules...like the SEC and others have done for decades, and look the other way regarding attending class, like many schools do("...we ain't come here to play school...").

QBs flameout at a really high rate. You want your coaching staff to secure their top targets every single year as to raise the odds that they hit on 1 of them with BIG upside going forward.
