Michigan AD discusses renewing series with ND

Depends on who needs the money the most.....I usually find out about this stuff so I will let people know about it if it is discussed.

Harbaugh vs Kelly I doubt many ND many ND fans are anxious to see that mis match, most likely similar to Saban or Meyer vs Kelly

Nor do I.
If we never played them again I would not be saddened! My first 25 years or so of following the Irish I didn't miss them and I don't miss them now. they were always the guys who lost the big 10 to OSU year after year and the years they did win they were chastened by the Pac 8.I remember the Thunderchickens from Stanford with Jim Plunkett at the helm putting it to them pretty soundly in the Rose Bowl

Heard similar things prior to the 2014 Michigan-ND game from similarly ND-obsessed Michigan fans. Not sure why Michigan fans spend so much time on this board---they need to get a life.

They didn't play for like 40 years, it's a rivalry of convince, (close proximity). Both teams are good from time to time. Im more excited about ND/GA in a couple years and other good home and homes. Michigan can be mixed in from time to time just like ND is doing to Texas and O$U.

Convenience? I agree except due to history and bigotry I wouldn't play them again. Muck Fichigan!

It wouldn't bother me if they decided to resume the series again. However, whenever I think of the series it brings back a lot of upsetting memories. More so, than pleasant ones. I know there's no room for fear in this game, but it wouldn't bother me if they decided not to resume the series too.

Thank you brother for the plug.

This series MUST CONTINUE, and if I may add as in the past it should be the first or second game of the season. No other game brings out the passion as this game. For me it was always the biggest game of the year

Poet, you and I have discussed this many times over the years. I don't always agreee with you (and I don't agree with you here), but you are one of the good guys on this board.

I don't think it is the greatest. But it was a good game and a quality rivalry. And with JH at Michigan could help the ND schedule. Besides. It isnt like the Michigan fans are going to stay away from here. Michigan lost what should have been 37-0 last outing and they still have a half dozen posters on here talking about the 1880's

They have an affinity for the Grover Cleveland and Benjamin Harrison administrations.

I enjoyed the annual game with Michigan and hope the series is renewed on a limited basis. So many close games won on the last possession, and of course love the butt kicking ND administered in the last game.

why ? what has harbaugh accomplished in his collegiate coaching career ? i think he's a very good coach but his collegiate resume pales in comparison to brian kellys.

I guess that means the two times we beat ND 38-0 should have really been 44-0.

24-17-1

That 24-17-1 is telling in so many ways.

There is no understandable reason these two team should not have played each other as many time as MSU played ND.

Natrual Enemies is a fantastic book, and the best sports book I have ever read. If you haven't read it you might want to take a glimpse. Sure these tow teams do not like eachother, nor do their fanbase. That is a given, but when these two teams play it usually dictate the season out come.

Shame on Michigan for putting their baseless pathetic reason for dropping the Irish because ND didn't want to be apart of the Big 10, ( though many believe Michigan seen ND rise as a football power as the reason), and shame on ND for giving Michigan a taste of their own medicine. This game is bigger than their pride. The history is long even though they played so few games compared to others, but even when they are not playing the bantor between the two teams fanbase is fierce.

That in its self is telling.

This game IS THE game ND must play every season as well as SC, and Navy.

On a side note Nebraska's and Oklahoma need to renew their rivalry as well. I love that game too.

I would love to see this game back again on a regular basis. It is good for both schools and was always one of the most anticipated games in each season.

Teams have been evenly matched, both coaches are among the best in the country and the geographic closeness makes this a game that should happen.

Just fighting fire with fire, Classic. Can't let IrishBlooded be the only teenager here.

Fire with fire? Not by a longshot. Posts like these are as interesting and thought provoking as those by the ND fan who responds to every post concerning FSU with "Criminoles. LOL."

Let us re-cap: Irishblooded boasted of a "should have been" 37-0 win, and I countered with our pair of "should have been" 44-0 games. That comes under the heading of lighthearted "fighting fire with fire". You are just incredibly thin skinned and crotchety. If you would prefer a walled off ND fan only board, there are many options.

How old are you?

Why can't you? Does what is said on an ND board really mean that much to you? Is it really so important to you that you are unable to shrug it off and simply ignore it?

Well, with Michigan holding a substantial edge in the overall series and having shut ND out 38-0 twice since 2003, one ND win does not mean all that much.

The vast majority of stuff I shrug off. But no, not everything.

And if you are going to be so deadly serious, a question for you: why aren't you admonishing the ND fans who behave like teenagers?

Two great schools, two great programs, a dead even series since the 1970s, and located on each other's doorstep. Plus, lots of good old fashioned hate on both sides. I.E.: natural rivals.

IMO, college football is better when we play.
