Michael Mayer gets drafted by who?

ND guys continue to be overrated in early mock drafts then drop in the actual draft. Not saying he will or won’t be a great pro but early mock drafts had MM as a potential top 10 pick

I think the Bills made a mistake. I think Dallas made a mistake. I think Cincinnati made a mistake. Heck....while I am at it Detroit and the Jets made a mistake. Michael Mayer will be a great NFL player. Sucks for him tonight but he will be signing contract #2 a year earlier than Kincaid who is a glorified WR.

Maybe had he played in the bowl game someone would’ve seen enough to take him. These guys don’t help themselves sitting out.
And if you badly tear an ACL in a bowl game like Jaylon Smith did....you’re never the same.

But it’s not your future, so why care.

This. The epitome of overthinking by some teams instead of just watching games. Mayer broke more tackles in one reception than Kincaid did in any one game

He is a WR not a TE

Ok he is now a day 2 pick. My new pick for him to go is to Indianapolis Colts at #4 of round 2.

Because 3 years of games is not enough time to evaluate a player😳.
One more game is not going to make a difference!

Mayer is stiff, average nfl athleticism….

Unbelievable character, determination, skills, etc. character doesn’t get you drafted clearly by some of the first round examples

It goes both ways. Zach Martin had nothing to play for, won the MVP for the Pinstripe Bowl. First OL MVP of a Bowl game in over 50 years.

That skyrocketed him up the draft boards and went 16th overall.

Mock drafts mean nothing. Except to get you to believe them.
The last 10 mock drafts I saw all had Kincaid going before MM and had MM as a 2nd round pick. I think he winds up better than Kincaid (a better blocker for sure), so not sure how much this matters.

Less guaranteed money is what matters. If he plays well and gets a second contract then he could end up ahead by being paid a year earlier. Time will tell.

anyone thinking sitting out a bowl games is going to make a difference to an NFL team is a moron.
Yeah NFL teams WANT the top players to sit out. The question is never that, it's the struggle to abandon your team for your and the teams last game.

I don't know much about Kincaid, but right now the hybrid TE/WR types are in vogue in the NFL, so that's probably why he was drafted higher. Mayer's more of a traditional TE, who can block and catch passes very well. But his running after the catch ability isn't that great, compared to those hybrid types.

Detroit. They need it after beleaguered first round. Who is making those picks for them? I could have done better. They have glaring defensive needs but MM is to good to pass up

Aahh...
The infamous....
But "what if" something bad happened

It's their lives alright but if they're going to think like that then why did they ever opt to play a sport to begin with.

Hell don't ever leave the home. Don't do anything whatsoever because you know...
something ....
MIGHT HAPPEN

The Colts have the 4th pick in the 2nd round and hopefully Mayer will still be there. The Colts could use a TE that can block and catch the ball. I'm not sure the Colts see it that way though.

pathetic. Jaylon Smith was the ultimate example; and you just blow it off. But as has been pointed out, its is not YOUR future so you can spout all you want.

Why not send your "notes..." on Tyler Buchner from the Spring game to Nick Saban...They are worth just about as much as what you say here.

The Raiders. One thing Josh McDaniels likes TE’s. He liked Gronk, hope he likes Baby Gronk.

So? Gronk was stiff and unstoppable.
He wasnt stiff when he came out of college

And Gronk was taller, heavier, longer, stronger, bigger hands. And then he ran a touch faster, was a touch quicker, and he jumped a touch more than Mike

Gronk was a little better athlete but in a bigger body than Mike has

The Mayer critics are remindful of all the bad moves by NFL GMs for years & years & years. Wrong at least half the time (& that’s being very generous) & the board nay sayers regurgitate the same bullshit that the Mel kipers say about Mayer. Dude was a stud at ND but he runs a 4.7 and all of the sudden he’s stiff & isn’t worthy of the first round. Lol. What a bunch of group think geeks some of you are.

Nailed it. Board basement geniuses Nasty and Golson giving us their poor man’s Kiper/McShay analysis on every post is downright brutal.
