Notre Dame men’s basketball signee Jalen Haralson came off the bench Tuesday night and logged a productive 13 minutes for the losing East squad in a 105-92 West victory at the McDonald’s All American boys basketball game in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The 6-foot-7, 205-pound senior at La Lumiere School in LaPorte, Ind., finished with four points, four rebounds, two assists and a turnover in the boys/girls doubleheader staged at the Barclays Center. Harrelson shot 2-for-6 from the field, 0-for-3 from the 3-point arc and 0-for-2 from the free-throw line.
Darryn Peterson (Kansas-bound) of the winning West team and Cameron Boozer (Duke) of the East team were named game MVPs.
Haralson, rated by Rivals as a small forward but projected to play guard at ND next season, is the No. 17 player nationally in the class, per Rivals. He’s part of the 15th-ranked class in men’s Division I basketball.
The other three members of that Irish class are four-star forwards Brady Koehler and Ryder Frost, and three-star center Tommy Ahneman.
Notre Dame finished in a five-way tie for ninth place this past season in the 18-team ACC at 8-12. The Irish were 15-18 in head coach Micah Shrewsberry’s second season.
