Yes I do think Redfield would have made a difference. Redfield made a tons of mistakes year, but he had speed to cover some of his mistakes. Look at the Clemson game last year was one his better games. He made mistakes, but he was able to catch some recievers from behind. Devin Studstill has alot of potential but lacks experience and strength. Tranquil and Avery back there together are way to slow to play against elite recievers. This defense has no hope cause you lack athleticism up front to generate a pass rush and backend cover speed with experience to make a difference. Despite the lack of athletic safeties, this game was lost strategically. Either players were not placed in the right positions, or they just were not making the right reads. Who on earth brings the house on a blitz on 3rd down and 8, while the opposition is in the redzone with a short field. I don't belief this defense can be successful at this level with the type of players you are getting. The defensive lineman on this roster or more suited for a 3-4 alignment, and the safeties are better suited in zone coverage I guess. But these DB's can not be left on an island too long especially not Nick Coleman. Hopefully Watkins can make it back before too long.
