Matt Balis resigns

Maybe three scenarios here. One, truly a personal reason and he does not return to coaching for several years if at all. Two, he was offered a boat load to go somewhere else but that would have come out already I feel so unlikely. Three, MF wanted to make changes based on his experience at OSU, Cinci and the NFL and Matt felt it was against his design so much so, the creative differences lead to his belief that it's better to leave than watch what was going to happen.

This happens lots in corporate America, new boss, wants to change processes, procedures, etc and the leader below feels so strongly it will damage the area and his/her long-term reputation they leave.

I don't know which of the 3 it is, I do know we will know very soon. But MF is 1000% right, no looking back only forward now. They should have a plan for each person and a list of candidates already established. In business, talent planning and talent succession is a yearly requirement.

Has he been eating at Popeyes and twerking in the gym mirror?

The Notre Dame coaching staff ranks high on the compensation scale.

Where are you getting your information that Notre Dame is cheap in compensating its coaching staff ?
