Marist should not be on the field. Him playing is an indictment on coaching staff. He flat out is bad. Kollie or junior or anybody should play. There was a lot of talk last year before Marist got injured about how good he was. No. No. No. very bad. And his lack of disruption affects the other lbsI've discussed him for weeks.
I'll say this to the point...if it stings oh well...
When playing honest he plays like a coward.
He ALWAYS allows the blocker to engage him 3-5 yards downfield.
In other words he's conceding a 3-5 yard gain at least.
Golden finally recognized this which is why he's now blitzing him a lot.
Sometimes players if you give them a running start will run right into a blocker.
Have them play honestly and they catch the blocker allowing the blocker to engage them.
#44 should be playing in front of Marist getting valuable experience because #44 will run into that brick wall.
He blitzes to be blocked every time. Now sometimes the goal of the stunt is for him to open a gap for Bertrand but every time they run that Bullets stunt I cringe because it rarely gets home. I feel like he kinda plays wild man football. Can anyone on this board share your thoughts on Marist. He is an exceptional athlete - he is a beast, but seemingly not playing up to his talent level. Is he hurt?
He's being used to cover gaps that the dline aren't controlling.Probably our biggest disappointment this year especially on D. He brings good energy on blitzes but he’s been average at best in other areas.
Have to agree. He shies from contact in the box. And his performance on blitzing is not enough to warrant his playing timeI've discussed him for weeks.

His blitzes last nite did zeroOur scheme is alarming both sides. How many times do we blitz 2 lbs and they have 2 olinmen picking them up. Pathetic
Under Lea, Marist was always against a rb when blitzing and destroyed them. Big reason why we dominated Howell
Under development!Marist came in as the 450th+ overall player in his class (composite 3 star) flashed some potential pre-injury and doesn't seem to be the same player. He's producing slightly above average from what you would expect from a composite 3 star player.
That’s a fair point, I think we might have overrated him before this season based on one game 2 years ago.Marist came in as the 450th+ overall player in his class (composite 3 star) flashed some potential pre-injury and doesn't seem to be the same player. ^^^^^^^^^^God damn, it must be a full moon! Because you guys are in rare effin' form.
But please, don't stop. Keep it coming. Keep the manic ravings coming.....
Ahhh..... Sure, why not?^^^^^^^^^^
does that count?

That's just it...
A lot of people don't understand how to properly play the position of LB.
Him allowing the blocker to engage him 3-5 downfield means the other LB's and or saftey automatically can't make that tackle without at least a 4-5 yard gain. They get caught in the trash and conceding a 4 yard gain...at least...all the damn time.
Linebacker played properly...particularly inside backer (and full back) is NOT for the faint of heart.
Headaches are not optional.
Ski…I bought into all the coach talk about how he was going to be a monster disruptive weapon….strong, athletic, fast, aggressive, etc… he just needed to be healthy and play under control. We rarely see him play under control, but I can‘t name another player who gets blocked so completely on seemingly every play. It’s past time for the coaches to make some changes and get our future stars on The field.Marist should not be on the field. Him playing is an indictment on coaching staff. He flat out is bad. At this point I'd just take him taking on the blocker at the LOS.Couldn't agree more!! Have you ever seen him shed a blocker and make a tackle? I have not! He's always getting blocked. Give #44 a chance.
