Out of curiosity, what does "taking the handcuffs off and letting them do what's necessary" involve?
I suppose letting agencies spy on us all.
Out of curiosity, what does "taking the handcuffs off and letting them do what's necessary" involve?
Rely on your intelligence and law enforcement to catch these people before they attack. To do this and allow our agencies to do the best job possible we need to take the handcuffs off and let them do what's necessary to get the job done. No more politically correct crap, or being worried about offending someone and losing their job. And if caught before an act of violence is carried out sentence them to life in prison.
So suspend the rule of law to incarcerate people before deeds are committed? Covict on thought alone?
Yet our country is making nice with the Saudis who were heavily involved in 9/11.It's a slippery slope. But trying to stop all this nonsense when the "playing fields" aren't level is an exercise in futility. We have to play by the rules, but the terrorists have no rules. Makes no sense.
In fact, that's what our enemies hope for - that we are limited in what we can and can't do. Are we willing to trade some of our liberties for safety? Are we willing to look the other way when our government resorts to "dirty" tactics in order to stop an attack from happening? It's tough.
In the wake of 9/11 we all wanted justice at any cost. The Patriot Act and other policies were hailed for their successes in halting additional attacks and weeding out the bad guys. As long as we felt safer, we turned a blind eye on what our covert forces were doing. That quickly faded as time passed and gave way to political correctness, racial bigotry and Islamophobia. How quickly we forget.
If 99% of all these terrorist attacks are committed by people of the Islamic faith, doesn't it seem prudent to be cautious around groups or even individuals who are Islamic? I would much rather err on the side of caution than have another preventable attack happen. I'm sure we all would, but not all of us will admit it out of fear of being labeled something silly.
It sucks for normal, law-abiding people of Islam, but the radicalized faction of their religion caused this. Those normal, law-abiding citizens need to join in the fight against radicalism if they feel jaded - but that hasn't happened yet.
I'd rather be called a racist than a widower or a victim.

I see where you're going. But to be fair, in addition to the adjectives of young, white and loner, let's not leave out troubled, mentally unstable and militant among others. that should whittle down the list.Just out of curiosity, but should we also profile young, white, loner males - because they seem to be the vast majority of mass shooters?
Maybe this means the government can confiscate guns from private citizens. Because you know, they MIGHT be considering committing a crime.[/QUOTE

Profiling in it's truest sense, is a useful tool of law enforcement and detective work. Tradecraft. Not harassing, not arresting, not planting evidence. Just being aware of your surroundings and those around you.
Libs are very reticent to admit that it was the Obama administration that designated these countries as lacking in proper vetting of travelers leaving their countries. Trump just followed through on what Obama started, and now Trump supposedly "hates" Muslims.South Bender,
One of the most sensible things that we can do is to stop all immigration from countries that were
Already identified by President Obama as dangerous areas to accept immigration from.
President Trump tried to stop immigration from these very same countries, but Liberals with their
Liberal Judges in the 9th And 4th Circuit so far has succeeded in blocking our President from stopping
These " Refugees from entering our country until they were properly screened.
These Liberals and their "judges" are not only endangering our country but the very lives of all
Our families !
Libs are very reticent to admit that it was the Obama administration that designated these countries as lacking in proper vetting of travelers leaving their countries. Trump just followed through on what Obama started, and now Trump supposedly "hates" Muslims.
Come on. Trump campaigned hard with Muslim hatred for over a year. It was a primary leg in his "blame the foreigners" strategy.
Yeah, because foreigners have nothing to do with terrorism. Nothing at all.
The problem being, Trump blamed foreigners for every problem during the primary.
Ivan Trumpnetti! No, he didn't. That's you exaggerating. He correctly pointed out that terrorism is primarily coming from the Muslim community. He also correctly identified the problems with illegal immigration. Neither one of those is "blaming foreigners for every problem."
In fact, this is actually you doing the same thing you are accusing Trump of doing, exaggerating and generalizing.

No it's not. Terrorism is primarily coming from people influenced by Muslim jihadists.Over the past ten years, terrorism in the United States is mostly coming from single white Christian males in their 20's.
Another alternative fact. Why do the conservatives complain about "political correctness" so much when they are chief practitioners of it? Requiring others to think a certain way, for news organization to cover certain stories, and for people to follow a certain way of behaving is the definition of political correctness?
Princeton University’s Loon Watch compiled the following chart from the FBI’s data:Over the past ten years, terrorism in the United States is mostly coming from single white Christian males in their 20's.

"Foreigners pose less of a threat to Americans than right-wing extremists on domestic soil. In a 2015 New York Times article, University of North Carolina Professor Charles Kurzman and Duke Professor David Schanzer found that Islam-inspired terror attacks accounted for 50 deaths since 9/11, but that “right-wing extremists averaged 337 attacks per year in the decade after 9/11, causing a total of 254 fatalities.”

Yeah, see this is another one of these disingenuous twisting of facts. We're talking about coordinated terrorist attack, with a political agenda, vs. any acts of violence. In other words, the author is stretching the word "terrorism," so he can include common violent acts, so he can minimize the Muslim connection.
Jealousy shows your inferiority intellectually, socially, academically and financially! Owned!Insults, the weapon of choice of the uninformed.
lol. YOU are the one who is discounting all terror attacks that don't fit into your narrow anti-Muslim agenda.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police say two people died and another was hurt in a stabbing on a Northeast Portland light-rail train after a man yelled “hate speech” at two young Muslim women.
The Oregonian/OregonLive reports (https://goo.gl/PKo777 ) officers arrested a man Friday afternoon who ran from the Hollywood/Northeast 42nd Avenue Transit Center.
Portland police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson says the man on the train was ranting on many topics, using “hate speech or biased language,” and turned his focus on the women.
Witnesses said two of the targets of the hate speech were younger girls believed to be Muslim. One of the girls was wearing a hijab.
The people who were stabbed had approached the man and tried to stop his behavior, but they were “viciously” attacked, according to a Portland Police Bureau spokesman.
Simpson says one person died at the scene and another at a hospital. A third man was injured.
Simpson says police don’t know if the man has mental health issues or if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Yeah, see again, that's not terrorism. Terrorism has a specific meaning. A random hate crime and a coordinated terrorist attack are two different things. You seem to not understand the difference.
If you seek to kill a person or a group of people for no reason other than to "send a message", that is terrorism. It doesn't matter if it is with a bomb or a semi automatic rifle.

I see you conveniently left out La Raza or black lives matter/ the New Black Panther PartyYou don't seem to understand the leaderless terror model. Both Islamic Extremists and White Power Groups look to "inspire" followers to plan and act on their own without direct communication with the leaders.
Not trueIt would seem that these kinds of attacks aren't predicated on some fanatical muslim from the Middle East sneaking into the US or Europe and performing some sort of attack.
These are people legally in said country who have converted to (re: brainwashed) the Islamic faith and have joined in the "jihad". This is what's really scary.
A "traditional" terrorist from the Middle East has given way to covert cells all across the globe. Your neighbor, for instance, could be an Islamic convert and decide one day to perform some cowardly act at a local mall or sporting event, all in the name of allah. This would be covered far and wide as an act of terrorism.
There is no way to stop the moronic, blood-thirsty, insanity of these zealots.
As these zealots walk among us everyday. If someone is willing to take their own life and the lives of others with no regard - it's hard to stop it.
That is a big reason why we voted him into office. His main job is to keep us safe. Pretty simple.Come on. Trump campaigned hard with Muslim hatred for over a year. It was a primary leg in his "blame the foreigners" strategy.
