Make Irish and America Great Again

you seem to be implying that the insurmountable corruption of the Clintons is trumped by the socialist utopia that they espouse and therefore overlooked and forgivable. Now, since you are putting words into others' mouths.....here's a bite for you to chew on.
The Libs are very very forgiving of their own.

Carson may be exceptionally smart, appropriately conservative, and in touch with the source of anger in this country; but I sure as hell don't consider him presidential material. We need all of the above, coupled with strong executive experience in either the public or private sector, and exceptional leadership qualities, including the gift of oratory skills necessary to connect with the voting public. In today's world you cannot underestimate the importance of communication skills in US National elections. Reagan and Clinton and Obama all had this gift...something critically important and lacking with both Hillary and Trump, and of course Carson.

Telex,

That was the problems with Carson that you laid out. He certainly does not have the executive experience, Leadership is harder to evaluate, some of the best leaders that I ever came accross were
not necessary the most talkative or outgoing, but led by both courage and example. my General
Oliver P. Smith in Korea was that type of quiet analytical leader, and thanks to him I am alive today.,
Carson is certainly not an orator, and with constant media coverage that is certainly a hugh disadvantage.
BJC had the gift of Oratory, but HRC ( putting aside my feeling that she is a criminal and liar)
is not good at oratory. her screechy hollering voice really grates on my nerves.
FDR was great at Oratory, but Harry Truman was straightforward and blunt. I don't Think that Harry could ever get elected today.
Obama was really good and he sold his voters on a slogan "Hope and Change"
so you are correct Oratory is just about a must today !

I attended an Ivy League college smart ass. Not Notre Dame. Congrats on the ND degree. Great school. Though you're understanding of what it means to be Catholic speaks volumes as to what has become of a Jesuit education. Enjoy Tuesday night. MAGA!!

Notre Dame is not a Jesuit school; it is the Congregation of the Holy Cross.

My mentioning of Notre Dame alumnus was an allusion to the social justice ethos at Notre Dame, particularly the legacy of Father Hesburgh including serving on the US Civil Rights Commission.

By the way, you may wish to check your autocorrect. It inserted the incorrect version of "your" in your post.

I do agree that the majority of candidates in the Republican primary - Bush, Walker, Rubio, Kasich - would have defeated Clinton - though I'm not sure in as large a margin as you claim. A number of the states are polarized such that they're not going to flip from red to blue or blue to red.

I think only Bush or Kasich really had a chance to be moderate enough to replicate what Bush did and defeat a Democrat.

Certainly not Cruz who shut down the US government, something even terrorists have not been able to accomplish.

Since this thread is about politics and some serious disagreement, thought I would share some political truisms that all sides can agree with....
