He couldn't handle the heat. Never would have made it.he showed some loyalty and also maybe consider his family being uprooted. Mostly he give a R-A about your opinion.
You do realize the sources of this story is coming from within ND. I get the feeling the first story is the more legitimate of the two and this one is to save face, but unfortunately too little too late.He couldn't handle the heat. Never would have made it.
Would not surprise me one bit. The truth in these situations no one knows.got cold feet. ND was going to pay buyout but he bailed. No loss.
He wouldn't have withstood the scrutiny.
Here’s where I disagree. You do realize the sources of this story is coming from within ND. I get the feeling the first story is the more legitimate of the two and this one is to save face, but unfortunately too little too late.
Here’s where I disagree.
ND had to know the financial obligation regarding the buy-out prior to Ludwig arriving in South Bend.
If ND knew the financial obligation prior to flying Ludwig to South Bend that meant that ND had agreed to the buy-out and the only remaining financial issue was Ludwig’s compensation package, because the buy-out was between Utah and ND and not between ND and Ludwig.
So, was the stumbling block Ludwig’s compensation package or Ludwig ?
Or, perhaps Ludwig’s agent, if he had one ?
Was it really multiple sources or several sources merely parroting one speculative source ?I get what you are saying, but when you have multiple news sources coming out with stories about ND refusing to pay a buyout, only to have another story days later come out that Ludwig got cold feet and decided to stay, something is not on the up and up. Either the sources are purposely out to embarrass Notre Dame or Notre Dame is trying to save face, and I'm leaning toward the latter.
You do realize the sources of this story is coming from within ND. I get the feeling the first story is the more legitimate of the two and this one is to save face, but unfortunately too little too late.
Not really true...Was it really multiple sources or several sources merely parroting one speculative source ?
Put your thinking cap on.
ND wouldn’t have flown Ludwig in without knowing what it was going to cost them.
ND had to have communications with Ludwig and/or his agent prior to them agreeing to fly Ludwig in, and those communications had to include all financial disclosures regarding the cost of the buy-out and Ludwig’s compensation.
Anonymous sources are …… anonymous sources and nothing more
ND looked at everything available to them. Not really true...
Wouldn't have been the first time and won't be the last ND got punch drunk excited and didn't look at everything.
O'Leary
Weis billion dollar extension after a cup of coffee
Shit happens....
No big deal on that..
What is a big deal is the message it sends.
O’Leary omitted a critical item, not NDPeople forget the George Oleary fiasco
Then going cheap on Urban Meyer
Then the Weis contact disaster
Blunder after blunder after blunder
You really want to simp for ND, don't you? The entire CFB world is sort of shocked over this sorry-ass transpiring of events, not just the weak-minded 'children' of the ND fanbase. It's not cataclysmic, it's just ND being ND, and I guess nice guys finish last. Poor, pathetic old ND is probably what the rest of the CFB world is thinking. This was a big hire, a chance for this young coach to get a great offense, hopefully, to replace the last vestiges of the BK era, and then for ND football to consolidate its gains, and to stay on top, and to remain relevant. And all we have to do is get out there and hire the guy. And money truly is no object....Patrirish makes excellent points. Ludwig and his camp would know the ins and outs of his contract, and that information would have been discussed first and foremost in these situations prior to any on campus interview.
If on the off chance "ND got the wrong contract" as I heard in some reports, not ND's fault as it was made out to be. Utah is responsible for providing proper documentation if requested. Also, in phone conversations they bring up a buy out of "450,000" or whatever it maybe once was, that was an opportunity for Ludwig/his camp to make the correction so that all facts were on the table.
My take is that initial reporting, even from ND beat writers, may have been a little biased to paint ND in a negative light, because look what that does. It makes the children on the message boards throw their feces and click/share articles all day.
HahahahaO’Leary omitted a critical item, not ND
ND didn’t go cheap on Urban Meyer, but according to you they did, so tell us, what did Urban want and what was ND willing to offer ?
WEISS !
Now this is funny and indicative of how stupid you are.
You’re complaining that ND is cheap and won’t spend money to acquire Ludwig and at the same time complaining that ND spent too much money in acquiring Weiss..
You can’t have it both ways.
But this is typical of you, you know nothing about ND and football, but present yourself as an expert.
Stick to your day job !
I think the problem with Urban going to Notre Dame is Urban asked the Notre Dame admin for more potential felons to be admitted, and Florida met that demand.People forget the George Oleary fiasco
Then going cheap on Urban Meyer
Then the Weis contact disaster
Blunder after blunder after blunder
Hahahaha
Nd didn't go cheap on Urban
Hahaha okay buddy
Have a good day
Not felons but getting done players into the school that wouldn't have been allowed prior was part of it. Lighting up on kids getting in with questionable academics. And money as wellI think the problem with Urban going to Notre Dame is Urban asked the Notre Dame admin for more potential felons to be admitted, and Florida met that demand.
Aaron Hernandez got away with a murder while in Gainesville. One huge coverup. It's a microcosm of the differences between Florida and Notre Dame. Not felons but getting done players into the school that wouldn't have been allowed prior was part of it. Lighting up on kids getting in with questionable academics. And money as well
No argument about thatAaron Hernandez got away with a murder while in Gainesville. One huge coverup. It's a microcosm of the differences between Florida and Notre Dame.
The mistake was not getting Urban prior to him coaching at Utah. He turned around Bowling Green in one year. They were 2-9 in 2000 and they finished 9-3 in 2001, Urban's first year as HCI think the problem with Urban going to Notre Dame is Urban asked the Notre Dame admin for more potential felons to be admitted, and Florida met that demand.
Agree, but I’m trying to think back….The mistake was not getting Urban prior to him coaching at Utah. He turned around Bowling Green in one year. They were 2-9 in 2000 and they finished 9-3 in 2001, Urban's first year as HC

There were some misdemeanors in there as well ! 😜I think the problem with Urban going to Notre Dame is Urban asked the Notre Dame admin for more potential felons to be admitted, and Florida met that demand.
You are dead wrong !You really want to simp for ND, don't you? So you're a little different than ND fans that just want to win, and that's what they want out of being such hardcore fans. You get your kicks out of being a lickspittle for the administration for some reason. They're both bad. But at least the rest of just want to win, which is a primal human impulse, however shallow or vain or regrettable that is in our modern, enlightened society. Especially when it's' so doable, so feasible. Just hire the guy! We ain't asking for the moon here.....
I don't wtf it is fans like you want exactly. I guess just to gloat in condescension every once in a while, and to sanctimoniously attach yourself to ND the prestige brand, or something like that. To be holier than thou. And winning is for cheaters and for children....
Had nothing to do with $.Not felons but getting done players into the school that wouldn't have been allowed prior was part of it. Lighting up on kids getting in with questionable academics. And money as well
You refuse to substantiate anything ever. Then ask others to do so and when they do you just ask for moreI knew that you couldn’t answer the question !
You make absurd statements and always fail to substantiate them
I prove everything I state. You refuse to substantiate anything ever. Then ask others to do so and when they do you just ask for more
You are old and senile
I maybe old, but I’m smarter and far more honest than youYou refuse to substantiate anything ever. Then ask others to do so and when they do you just ask for more
You are old and senile
I still got those magic beans for yaI prove everything I state.
i refuted your claim that ND refused to pay Ludwig’s buy-out by citing the ultimate source, Jack Swarbrick, who stated that ND was willing to pay the buy-outs, That the buy-out was NOT the issue, as you claimed it was. YOU WERE DEAD WRONG, AS USUAL !
You’re such a tool that even when the involved party proves you wrong, you won’t admit that you were wrong.
That’s being dishonest and is proof positive that you lack character and integrity
When you’re dead wrong and you‘ve been exposed as a fraud, all you can do is to try to divert attention from you’re ignorance by attempting a feeble jokeI still got those magic beans for ya
Dead wrong HahahaWhen you’re dead wrong and you‘ve been exposed as a fraud, all you can do is to try to divert attention from you’re ignorance by attempting a feeble joke
You’re dead wrong again !Dead wrong Hahaha
Senile you get a break for being old
Gullible you are
Just like Jack Swarbrick was your source when you said you KNEW he was not going to hire MF. No chance, remember you saying that over and overYou’re dead wrong again !
My source is Jack Swarbrick, what’s your source ?
When you‘re caught and exposed for being wrong and for being a fraud, you attempt to divert and deflect the focus away from your failure by trying to change the subject, but that doesn’t work with me.Just like Jack Swarbrick was your source when you said you KNEW he was not going to hire MF. No chance, remember you saying that over and over
My sources are the same people that said MF was going to be the next HC while you and Jack were saying it wasnt....
Don't forget that
He wouldnt pay the buy out. He and the administration blew it. PeriodWhen you‘re caught and exposed for being wrong and for being a fraud, you attempt to divert and deflect the focus away from your failure by trying to change the subject, but that doesn’t work with me.
You screamed and shouted from the rooftops that Swarbrick wouldn’t pay the buy-out, but Swarbrick was crystal clear, ND was willing and prepared to pay the buy-out.
And the sad part is that you don’t have the character and integrity to admit that you were wrong, and to make matters worse you continue to accuse Swarbrick of lying, yet you have no evidence to support your claim
Bottom line …… you’re a despicable person !
You’re a serial liar.He wouldnt pay the buy out. He and the administration blew it. Period
Now tell us about your sources when you knew JS wouldnt hire MF and you were proved wrong like I said
Own up to it like you never did.
Bottom line.... you're always wrong and never admit it.
Senile thoug
