I like his passion. I like his aggressive play calling.

However, he is a pass heavy OC that has a lot in common with Kelly.

From Irish insider:
In its 8-5 2016 season, Memphis finished 14th out of 128 FBS teams in passing (304.4 yards per game), 32nd in total offense (463.7 yards per game) and 84th in rushing (159.3 yards per game).

The Tigers were 63rd in third down conversions (40.5 percent), one spot ahead of Notre Dame. They also scored touchdowns on 63.6 percent of their red zone trips, ranking 51st out of 128 teams.

Bad in the red zone and not much of a run game. Also, 3rd down conversion looks like a Kelly offense.

Look if Sanford left w/o ever calling a play, do you think this guy will make any difference?
When I read the stats, all I wondered was what kind of defense did MU have?

Have you located a nice trailer park in Western Kentucky?

There's a lot of pretty country down here in Western Kentucky. You can live in a lot worse areas 44.

Kentucky born-Kentucky bred-and when I die I'll be Irish dead. None taken but you should see our bluegrass! I should have guessed him again.

I truly hope that Long's contributions can influence Kelly in a positive manner and of course contribute to more ND victories etc.

He may be a scum-bag of a guy but Bobby Patreno (under whom Long received tutelage) is a heck of a coach (competes quite well with 3-star recruits etc.)

But, why would Kelly hire someone who has a different point of view and maybe some 'fresh' ideas? This way Kelly could avoid potential arguments on game planning and play calling.

And which is more important - doing things Kelly's way or winning?
