Former Notre Dame running back Jonas Gray shared a take today on X giving Irish cornerback Leonard Moore some props for his coverage of Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith in the national championship game.
Smith wasn't buying it.
However, Pro Football Focus only credits Smith with having one catch for seven yards while Moore was covering him. Smith was targeted another time with Moore in coverage, and Moore broke up that pass.
Smith finished the game with five catches for 88 yards and one touchdown. PFF assigned the rest of those catches against Christian Gray (3 catches on 4 targets for 79 yards and 1 touchdown) and Jordan Clark (1 catch on 1 target for 2 yards).
