LeBron James Gets Swept.

The same reason MJ got swept twice vs Bos and went 1-3 vs Detroit, lost in 6 vs Orlando and got gentlement swept by Sidney Moncrief and the Bucks. Lebron was the best player on the floor last night. Gave his team a 40 pt near triple double. Played the best D on Joker and Murray. Teammates have to make shots. Denver was the better team and Lebron wasnt the reason his team lost the series. Nice try loser.

How does a team with LeBron James, who some say is the greatest NBA player to ever live, and Anthony Davis as a teammate, get swept?
Michael Jordan didnt make the nba playoffs when he was 38. Eithr did Kobe

Lebron made the western conference finals

Bird and Magic were out of the league.

Denver also has stars who are unstoppable. They are well coached. Denver's stars made some amazing and timely shots the entire series which broke the Lakers back. The Lakers lack some depth but Denver is an elite team top to bottom. If you watched all the games like I did it would make more sense.

Jamal Murray was the best player on the floor despite what your box score tells ya. That dude is the best pure PG in the league.

Denver is a complete team, and their success is due to their role players: Bruce Brown, Gordon, Pope. Exactly the pieces Phoenix had before trading it away for a superstar.

I watched every game.

And my guess is you did not believe, before game 1, that LeBron and Anthony Davis would get broomed.

I certainly didn't.

Lebron’s stats for the night were incredible. But asking a 38 yr old to play all 48 minutes, carry the offensive load, guard the other team’s best players, etc… says a lot about the rest of the team. I didn’t think Denver’s defense shut James down in the second half. James largely played behind the three point line in the second half, not because of game planning by either coach, but because he was totally spent. Denver is a more talented much deeper team than the Lakers, James and Davis notwithstanding. Wanted Denver to win the series, but also wanted a six or seven game series.

But when MJ was in his prime, he simply didn't lose. You can spin it however you want, but LBJ cannot say the same. LBJ is a great player, he is just not at Jordan's level of greatness.

I watched both in their prime, and you're correct.

And the vast majority of NBA personnel do as well.

Hes not a pure PG

Hes a combo scoring guard. A classic 2 guard but a modern point.

And yes Hes a stud
Disagree, a classic 2 guard is MJ/Kobe..a modern point guard is considered Steph, Russ, Lillard- none of which I consider Point Guards. The ability to score doesn’t disqualify Murray as a pure PG but what does make him a Pure PG is his ability to control the tempo/pace of the game and ability to run the offense at a high level, make others better and distribute the ball to the right person.

Thats what Jokic does. Murray is a great modern point guard. Hes not a pure point. Thats a Chris Paul type

Either way he was awesome

Love the PG talk. There’s always been different types of point guards. Isaiah was a scoring point but was a great disher too. Stockton was the classic point as far as getting the ball into his teammates’ hands (one of the great passers of all time) but could also score (led the 90s in cumulative fg%, ft% & 3pt%). KJ is very underrated, he was great at both. No one has played the position like magic, arguably the best player ever. I didn’t get to see Oscar play other than video clips but he was maybe the best of all of them. Iverson was always a #2 to me but no more than Steph & Murray & lilliard are today. Payton was a pure point, but could score too. Kidd was a different type of combo point. Forgot about Jerry west (the logo). He was your classic combo point I would think. I’m missing a bunch, so list all the ones I’ve missed & tell me where I’m off.

Bias here as a Utah guy but the pasty gangster John Stockton is the best pure PG of all time. The position has changed in the last 20 years and true PGs rarely exist in todays game. CP and Murray are the closest thing with very similar styles- I know Jokic gets all the love but Murray in my mind is what makes that engine tick.

Was a big fan of the jazz because of Adrian dantley. Then Stockton & Malone came along and they were elite for a long run after that. Some may forget, they took the showtime lakers in their prime to 7 games & easily could’ve won that series if a few close calls go their way instead of the lakers’. After that, they played in 5 WCF & 2 finals in the next 8 years. They lost in 6 both times to the bulls but they were both very competitive series, and that was against one of the better teams of all time some say. Stockton and Malone were two of the greats of all time, no doubt & when they got hornacek, that gave them a third option that made them tough to beat. They got real close, too bad they couldn’t get a ring

We’ll said!! Was a huge MJ fan but recall shedding some tears when they lost that 2nd finals when MJ hit the shot. Sloan was great/old school, Malone is still under appreciated- won 2 MVPs during the prime of the GOAT.

Agreed. The sneak behind karl steal was epic and the flu game was ridiculous. Although echo is right that he pushed off Russell. 😉

💯he’s the best power forward ever, especially if you push Duncan to the #5, which he really was a combo 4-5. Malone was the quintessential 4, imo. Barkley was incredible too, very very under appreciated. More of a 4-3, especially later in his career. I’d put Mchale in the discussion too. Didn’t get to see Baylor play, but vids show he was ahead of his time. Garnett in there somewhere. Probably missing a bunch here too.

Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bull's sixth ring beating Karl Malone/John Stockton was his/their greatest championship.

😂 again you clearly didn't watch the NBA back then. Bron would have been out after 15 years with the beating he would have taken back then.

He played 15 years and made 6 NBA finals

He lost plenty
A perfect 6-0 in those finals with one team, and he took 2 years off in his prime, which there was a good chance he would have won 2 more.

Bron 10 finals with 3 different teams. 4-6. 😂🤣😂🤣

Sure, Jordan lost plenty. But he made 6 NBA finals and came home with the championship trophy 6 times. I believe that would be 6 for 6. Batting 1.000. Lebron has been in the finals 10 times and won the title 4 times. He is batting .400. Good, but not in Jordan's league.

I am not a Lebron hater. I think he is the most physically gifted basketball player, if not athlete, that I have ever seen. He is a true freak of nature. I enjoy watching him play. The hype when he was 16 years old was off the charts. He managed to meet the hype, and even exceed it. But he never had the ability to impose his will on a game like Jordan did. And therein lies the difference.

Not the same situations. MJ benefited from huge expansion 6 team in 7 years all during is championship run & that was when the NBA was 99-93% US Born players since the 10's in Lebron's run it was around 75-71% US born players.
The year aftet MJ stepped away the Bulls won over 50 games and was a bad Hue Hollins call away from ECF's & likely the Finals. When LBJ left his 1st Cavs team they went to the Lottery. LBJ's Miami "superteam" missed the playoffs. LBJ's 2nd Cavs team was back in the lottery.
Id argue Lebron's titles vs the 73 win defending champs GS, the in prime Spurs Dynasty and OKC which featured 3 in prime top 50 players are more valueable than MJ's 6 titles where the 97 Pacers were MJ's toughest opp. (MJ's words not mine)

LeBron excelled in yesterday's game, played a ton of minutes and was basically hobbling with a sore ankle and later a knee bruise. He has will and determination. I don't think age had everything to do with a drop off in the end. On the last play of the game 4 guys were covering him. If he would have dumped it off to an open guy maybe different results.

That pacers team w/ Miller, smits, mullin, Antonio & dale Davis, Jackson, McKey, rose, west was really good & title worthy. Teams were just deeper & better back then. That team could easily win it all this year.

No they couldnt. That team didnt have a 20pt scorer. They had a bunch of old vets that couldnt ave 30 minutes a game. Smits was either in foul trouble or had to sit long stretches because he fatigued so easily. Mullins ave like 11 pts a game. Mark Jackson & Jalen Rose were subpar shooters. That team would struggle to win 30 games in this era & that was MJ's toughest test.

Not a huge difference in the expansion teams than the bottom of the barrel/non -competitive teams in the NBA today. More teams doesn’t equal more threat.

The Pacers were not the toughest opposition - Jazz (Malone/Stockton), Suns, (Chuck, KJ, Thunder Dan) Knicks (Ewing, Oakley, Houston, Starks) Sonics (GP, Kemp), Lakers (Magic), Pistons (Dumars, Isiah), Blazers (Drexler/Cliff), Magic (Shaq, Penny).

It baffles me that this many people still debate Jordan vs James.

Really, no one is changing each others mind at this point.

They’re both the best players of their generation hands down, that’s not even a question. There are so many variables that go into their careers that determine their success.

What if Lebron had played first and was drafted to the Bulls and Jordan had been drafted to the Cavs? Does Jordan win 6 titles in 12/13 years with the Cavs?

I’m not a LBJs fan but I respect the hell out of his longevity. The dude played all 48 minutes and was an assist away from a triple double. I’d argue that LBJs is a greater physical specimen than Jordan, the league had never really seen anyone his size that could move and run the floor like him.

MJ was a freak too but I think he is/was wired differently. Just listen to interviews of him and former teammates, the man was essentially a sociopath on the floor, LBJs isn’t wired that way.

Just enjoy the great talents both guys are, soon LBJs will be gone and even his haters will begin to miss his talent.
