This game vs Temple is our best shot to get a good starting position in the playoff rankings as the first poll comes out after the Temple game

Many of u will say get the W. But if we get the W impressively we will get a good spot in the polls and can move up from there

A tight game will find us struggling to make the playoffs. A loss and it's over

That's how I see it. It isn't always about where u start. It's how u finish. But the season is more than half over so this is important. Win by : tax and we are looking good. Less than that it will be a struggle

I'd always prefer to be higher than lower in the polls (obviously), but I'm not sure a good "starting position" matters. From what I could tell last year, the committee didn't move in lockstep by moving winning teams up a notch and losing teams down a notch. Teams jumped over other winning teams in front of them based on a more impressive victory, a better strength of schedule, and other factors.

The Temple game is important for being a victory against a team that may finish in the Top 25, but I'm not particularly concerned with our "starting" position, for what it's worth.

Starting positions mean nothing. Go review last years' rankings from the first week. Go review last years' rankings from the week prior to the conference championships -- they didn't mean much either!

Temple, Pitt and Stanford all give ND the opportunity to impress the committee.
