Tragic and sad. A life for a life. Gonna make things even harder for BK dealing with the players and coaches who were close to him. The coaches at all schools need to spend more time talking about safety and good decision making in general. So sad.

Agreed! I know BK got crap for getting in his *** during a game, but kids sometimes just need love and not toughness!

That was a different player. And this is not going to make things harder for BK, anymore than it would for MF, if Onye had taken his own life in the depths of depression or something like that. I can't tell if you're trying to blame this on BK, which of course you guys do reflexively. Or if not exactly that, at least saddle him with the consequences of it somehow, which is the least you could do.

Lacy was a super talented, but kind of like, remarkably immature WR, almost like a kid, like he behaved and acted almost like a literal kid, like a pre-pubescent kid. This was supposed to be his big year, and he did have a good season as LSU's WR1, and almost like something out of Shakespeare or something, he behaved in a typically naive and foolish, immature fashion in the accident he was involved in, and his life was seemingly destroyed by it, whereas previous to it he was headed for the NFL and would have been drafted and likely would have been on an active roster next season. And it appears he was overwhelmed by this incredible turn of events in his life, and so he committed suicide. Didn't have anything to do with BK.

As someone who also follows LSU now, he was a joy to watch, and an uber-talented player. And his biggest crime previous to this incident would appear to have been nothing more than being very naive and irresponsible in a venial way, and he dropped a few more passes than you'd like. Otherwise he seemed like a good guy, and a fantastic athlete with a ton of youthful exuberhance in him. The whole thing is a remarkable tragedy.

I don't think anyone was blaming BK. I think the 2nd poster was just saying sometimes coaches need to be more positive with young people. Not cause and effect.

As much as I detest BK....and its no secret....his name shouldn't even be in the conversation. This young man was 24 years old....The choices he made had consequences....including the taking of another life....which apparently were more than he could bare. A very unfortunate story. His inner circle of family were in the best position to intervene. But they weren't brought up....his coach was. These coaches aren't cradle to grave caretakers. I must admit....its a peculiar feeling defending Brian Kelly.
