Are you sure it is not "embrace the culture of mediocrity and bad play calling"? OR "Bad recruiting and bad play calling - catch the fever".
As a fan, I'm not interested in mottos. Just wins. Of course, the players might feel different. It's their blood, sweat, and tears. I'm just a bystander. If they like it then that's all that matters.
I agree. Kelly is annoying at times. He's more politician than coach. Just win dude. Cut the BS.
I hate being a pessimist but I agree with the others. Besides good scheme will kick the crap out of a good culture more times then not. Kinda like passing the ball 50 times against Navy and NW was a bad idea. Kelly needs to make sure his scheme is better this year or risk his culture continuing to be one of underachieving.
We had two seasons affected by losing key players - Golson, then the "Frozen Five" - before the season ever got started because talented players tried to take shortcuts. Whether its academic dishonesty or beating up some drunk chick, culture matters. I'm glad its a focus.

and Players determine if culture produces WINS. IMO its just a coaching thing. My sons still wear their tees with slogans from years ago.....some good....some funny. Malik, Kei, Tarean, Sheldon, Jaylon, Joe....et al will determine what the 2015 Irish will be remembered for.
NO - Weis was a self proclaimed schematic genius - completely exposed at ND, Florida, Kansas - fraud is more like it.
IMO the motto is about blowing people off the ball so team can run the ball in the red zone and on third and 2-3-4
