From my perspective, I care little about the who saying what but I focus on the 'what' is said. So while his motives may be not w/o absence of malice' his much of his comments are not so outlandish.

Brian Kelly will never fire BVG. That would be an admission of making a mistake. BVG is at ND as long as Brian Kelly is. It is what it is.

For someone who recently claimed that you've thrown in the towel on the program, you have an odd way of validating that claim given that you only joined the board a couple of weeks ago to repeat your negative comments about the program.
Why do I suspect that this guy is yet another of the board's regular trolls with a different handle?
I understand what are are saying but he had no problem throwing his punter, kicker and Weis recruits under the bus in past seasons. It is not just what he says about BVG. He also said:
“I think if we had to do anything differently we probably would have added a little bit more personnel to the two tight end run game packages with Swoopes, in retrospect,” Kelly said. “Other than that, we had the right defensive structure out there.”
Really, "the right defensive structure"? he ran a 3-3-5 most of the game. That is just plain idiotic.

Classic. Old handle was lake ann pope. Never have thrown in the towel on ND. Just view it for what it has become. The admin. and the way they view the football program changed the day Lou was forced out. I, personally, don't believe that is disputable. Others may disagree. Kelly is a decent coach imo. He is as good as ND is willing to pay for and tolerate. The next coach will be no better. Unless the admin. changes how they view football and it's place within The University. I won't hold my breath.

I've been behind BK since day 1...but I'm done with his unorganized idiot thinking and excuses.
He is unprepared and has no in game sense of feel.
Just wait until we need red zone points again this year and he goes empty set shotgun on first and goal from the 6. I just long for those days again...which might happen, oh , this week.

I'm not sure if anybody ever listens to ISD podcast.. I'm listening to it as I type this and the moderator just said something stunning that I think points out how dysfunctional this defense is, either because BVG is incapable of communicating his idea or it's too damn complicated for CFB (or both).
What he said was that he re-watched the game and he counted at least 11 times where the defense was not even lined up or in their stance before the ball was snapped. 11 plays where the defense is so confused they can't even line up properly. I don't care if you have the best FB players in the world, if they can't even get lined up that defense will fail.

Yeah, there are issues. And like I said earlier, nobody appears to have replaced Joe Schmidt in the role of getting the other players lined up before the snap. Because Schmidt's apparently the only player in 3 years who fully understood the defense. Somebody else better get a handle on it soon.
I think you are absolutely right Zonairish it would be extremely disruptive to the team to show lack of confidence in BVG . Fans should take with a grain of salt what Kelly says to the press during the season about his feelings on any assistant coach
