It's kind of similar already, but I mean when the Pats had both Gronk & Hernandez on the team. If the TE's we have & are getting pan out like they should, they will need to be on the field creating mismatches. Obviously if we don't have a QB that can throw it won't matter lol :D

Well, according to the new OC, TE's will be an important part of his game plan. Something that has been missing in recent years, and I don't know why. Seems to me, if you attack the whole field, including the middle, more problems for defenses. And I agree, ND has very good running backs, and have recruited as well as most anyone not named Alabama on the offensive line. I sure would like to see a good mix of run/pass.

Agreed, but still it won't work without a good passer so we shall see. The players are there on offense otherwise

Wimbush is a good passer. Check out his HS tapes. Based on what I've read about him he is more talented than both Kizer and Zaire. I expect we have have a damn good QB next year. If Long truly uses his TEs Wimbush will have more passing options than Kizer did. The middle of the field will be his playground.

They did it was called Charlie Weis. Tom Brady doesnt play at ND. Its not the offense its the players.

Just wanted to add. Phil Simms again repeated what he said earlier in the season , " It is difficult to cover the Patriots .They have so many plays an opponent has to cover."

Wish that Brian Kelly and his supposedly spread offense , would take a lesson from the Patriots .Kelly seems to be in a rut with his offense .

You want Kelly to have the Patriots offense when ND has much less time to work with its players than an NFL team.
Kelly acknowledged that the playcalling verbiage was too complex already to run the offense at high tempo.
Everyone bitched about the complexity of BVGs defense, yet here you go wanting to go in the same direction with the offense.
I'd rather have the players learn fundamentals and to execute the plays they get consistently. Doubling the size of the playbook is not going to help anything.

Belichek went to Urban Meyer to get offensive tips; '16 proved that the best offensive mind still needs a QB!
Not everyone has a Brady.

One of the Pats offensive keys is that they actually do re-create the wheel every week. Major changes in game plan and in many plays based upon the specific opponent. That's not going to happen with 20 hours per week, which includes the game.

Exactly! Other professional teams can't even re-create what the Patriots do, much less a bunch of college kids.

I'd prefer to have a team that is VERY good at executing the offense they have to one that tries to do something different every week.
