Not seen much on the board about this young man. First, Welcome to ND!

Second, watched some film. Excellent speed, hands not body on the ball, goes across the middle without alligator arms.

Here is a public comment from the TX area.

"To understand the full impact that Smith could bring to the depth chart, I checked in with Christian White, who is the founder of Texas Flex 7-on-7 football team that Smith is a part of. White is also a defensive back-linebacker performance trainer who also works closely with the Under Armour All-American Game.

According to White, Notre Dame got a steal, and he urges Irish fans to not let his three-star ranking distract you.

"I think Notre Dame got one of the best in the country,” White said. "It was a great late offer and a steal in this 2023 class.”

What a class MF is assembling here at ND.

As I said, ND's swell fanbase at large would rather this kid didn't even exist. And are trying to pretend this commitment never even happened.

Nary even a peep....

Wooooohooo! This is an unbelievable get! This kid exists. Big time baby!!!

Justin Tuck was a 3 star commit for ND when Bob Davie coached. No one payed too much mind to him at the time. How’d he turn out ? Just saying. It’s always good to fly under the radar.

lots of 3 stars. Probably a bit of a journeyman but we need numbers at WR

ND has had lots of 3 stars over the years that were excellent. Just commenting on some of the previous players noted as 3 stars.

Yeah, I think everyone knows that we've had countless numbers of three star recruits who turned out to be good players and starters and whatnot.

That didn't need to be added. That's in the 'water is wet' category of pointlessly obvious observations one could make.....

Welcome aboard, Kaleb!

After looking at Kaleb's film, there is a lot to like with him. Really good speed and he is decisive in making his cuts to the open spot in the field. Good return man. He catches the ball with his hands instead of letting the ball come into his body, and he seems to be a smooth and instinctive route runner. I also like the fact that he played other sports at his high school: centerfielder and #3 hitter on the baseball team, and point guard on the basketball team. That tells me he is an athlete. While Kaleb is a little on the small side, I imagine Balis will put some muscle on him. Could turn out to be a sleeper.

If nothing else it's interesting that this guy only has two offers, both P5, and one of them is from ND. He's not even listed as having a Dartmouth offer. Like they were maybe interested in him, and he's probably got the grades, but decided to pass. So I don't know if that's bad or good. But ND definitely does not have to offer this kid, does not need him and would be totally fine without him. So presumably our coaches legit like him. He must be a late-bloomer in some way....

This kid is a steal reminds me body size and style of OBJ not saying he has the ceiling of OBJ but really reminds me of him with his route running. We got a steal..
