The final homestand of a forgettable Notre Dame men's basketball season starts tonight.
Perhaps the Irish (12-17, 6-12 ACC) can salvage the end of the regular season with a couple of ACC wins in Purcell Pavilion. Notre Dame will host Stanford (19-10, 11-7) tonight at 9 EST before California (13-16, 6-12) comes to town on Saturday at 4 p.m. EST.
If NC State (11-18, 4-14) loses to Pittsburgh (16-13, 7-11) tonight in Raleigh, N.C., the Irish will clinch a spot in the ACC Tournament regardless of their own result. But a Notre Dame win will also guarantee itself a spot even if NC State loses.
The top 15 teams in the conference qualify the for the ACC Tournament. Notre Dame is tied for 13th with California and a half game ahead of 15th-place Syracuse (12-18, 6-13).
