at an ND function in Cinci area. Spoke very candidly and openly about a lot of stuff. Dude loves ND. Said that he made a mistake when he didn't choose ND for college but that he would never make that mistake again. Says he will be at ND until he is fired, plain and simple. Said flat out that the coaches who left made huge mistakes, seemed to especially direct that at Cooks but also Alford. Said that Sanford is the best Qb coach he's ever seen and will do awesome. Said that we will get the #1 Qb in the country in 2017 because of him, and that 2017 will be a huge year in recruiting. Blamed this years slow start in recruiting on the loss of the coaches and their personal relationships with recruits. Said the first thing he did when he became recruiting coordinator was hire a 5 person social media and graphics staff - Twitter is the #1 most important thing in recruiting. Also addressed the usual anti-ND recruiting tactics - academics and Catholicism. Talked about a few players - CJ- best athlete on the team. Malik- impressive leader and best RB on the team! Raved about the freshman linebackers Bilal, Coney, and Bajaras - said no one signed as good of an LB group as ND. Addressed Golson, said he was sad to see him go when he would have been a huge part of the team. Awesome guy, great of him to come for this fundraiser. Very impressive.
