Both of these guys are catching heat. Oklahoma is 2-2 and can't stop anyone and FSU is 3-2 and can't stop anyone.

I think it's fair to say FSU and OU have equal if probably not better players on defense than ND.

IMO ND does not have enough time to turn strengths into weaknesses ND needs to just mitigate it's defense by playing vanilla, eliminating dumb mistakes.and coach the heck out of creating turnovers 11 guys ripping and stripping at the ball always. Stealing 1 or 2 possessions a game.

And keep working on its strength. Offense. ND scored 50 points, 471 yards passing and 163 yards rushing. And easily left another 200 yards of offense and 3 TD's on the field.

right now OU's defense is as bad as our irish defense as they have given up 33, 45, 46 pts in three of there first four games to go with tons of yardage given up. if bob really cares about doing whats right for the program in general for now and the future then he needs to fire his brother as DC but I wonder if he'll have the nerve or guts to fire his own brother even though they need a change just like our irish did

Charles Kelly DC at FSU is taking huge heat. And starting with the Rose Bowl vs Oregon.

FSU is just 13-6 in the last 19 games.

ND since the Music City Bowl is also 13-6 in its last 19 games.

Aren't statistics amazing when you cherry pick them to make your point?

You could also say that FSU is 47-7 in its last 54 games while Notre Dame is just 38-16 over the same time period.

There's also the matter that the records of the teams we lost to were 13-2 Oregon in the playoff semifinal, 14-1 Clemson that played in the national title game, 13-1 Houston team that people won't shut up talking about, 4-1 Louisville which I think is actually the best team in America this year despite losing by two yards and a couple of seconds at a top four team, and 4-1 North Carolina by way of a phantom PI call and a miracle 54 yard kick. We did have the incredibly flukey bad loss to 3-9 Georgia Tech which is our biggest upset of all time, but over a period since mid 2012 there will be at least one at least one off day.

Meanwhile over that same period Notre Dame lost to:

2-3 Duke
2-2 Texas
2-2 Michigan State
5-7 Northwestern
7-6 Michigan,
7-6 Pittsburgh
9-4 USC
9-4 Louisville
10-3 Arizona State
11-3 Stanford
11-2 Oklahoma
12-2 Stanford
12-1 Ohio State
13-1 Alabama
13-1 Florida State
14-1 Clemson

So 8 losses to good teams and 8 losses to mediocre at best teams.

So, our defense is non existent and our offense is sloppy. At least we are 4-7 on fgs. Yay for us....

I think you are taking it as an insult to your program. It is not

Well the other thing to keep in mind is that the FSU defense (which is not good or even mediocre by our standards but is not as bad as the talking heads and stats show) has had to face the #2, 5, 21 and 27 (plus a ranked FCS team on four day turnaround time) rated offenses by scoring while Notre Dame has only faced the 23, 67, 83, 105th and 108th.

By total offense which I think is a far less important measure as you don't win by yards but points, FSU has had to face the #2, 26, 27 and 32 while Notre Dame has only faced offenses rated 15, 24, 49, 78, and 95.

What did you think of BK's coaching performance yesterday?
