Tiger missed a cut in 1997 when he was 21 yrs old the next cut he missed was 2005 ( 142 tournaments later ) breaking Byron Nelson's record of 113 straight .

Media jerks off when Tiger misses a cut - Spieth misses two cuts by 5 strokes in a week and not a peep , a different standard I suppose for the greatest golfer ever . I look forward to his comeback this fall .

Last note in his last four rds Spieth has avg 74 per rd - tigers last four 66.7 , which brings me to my next stats Tiger is the only golfer in the history of the game to avg under 68 per rd for a season - he has accomplished that feat twice ( 2000 + 2007 ) . Little known fact Tiger has won the Vardon Trophy ( lowest scoring avg for a season ) a record 9 times . Jack Nicklaus never won it. Hopefully the Irish are 7-0 when Tiger laces em up in Oct for his return to glory .

Sorry man. Tiger can't hold Jack's ahhh golf bag. Not to mention he is a low life. Pers has a better chance of making a cogent post then Tiger does of beating Jack's 18 majors.

Tiger Woods 79 Tour Wins
Nicklaus 73 Tour Wins

Tiger will end up with 90 + Tour wins -- 19 majors

Tiger also has a colorful sex life which I will never hold against a man

Come on Continually, his colorful sex life was while married with kids. Terrible character, but that is a separate issue from his golf accomplishments. I think next year is a critical year and will determine whether he is a consistent major force on the course, and in majors going forward. I don't like the guy, but I love it when he is near the top of the leaderboard.

Tiger needs to concentrate on making cuts. He is done. The only slight chance he has is if he swallows his pride and begs Butch to take him back. He is too stupid to do that. Now his short game sucks. I would be shocked if he ever wins another major.

Tiger is a long way from done. Sure he is a bum, but that does not mean at 39 he is done winning championship golf.

He will set both the tournament win record as well as hit 19 Major wins.

I enjoy your posts re ND football and our little buddy . I play golf at a high level and study the game . Tiger had the three best tournaments of ball striking @ Wyndham - Greenbriar and Quiken Loans that he has had in five yrs . He was three or four swings away from winning all three tournaments . Two years ago I followed him around during the third rd of the Barclays @ Liberty Park . He couldn;t even bend over due to back problems that he dealt with through surgery , he finished that day 1 off the lead . That was 2013 a summer in which he won five times and was voted Player of the Yr by his peers .

Vijay Singh won 2 majors and 22 tournaments in his forties . Nicklaus won two majors in his 40's . I defer to Freddie Couples who said this about Tiger Woods . Driving the golf ball and iron play he thought Tiger and Jack were close , putting dead even -- short game around the green NOT EVEN close Tiger is far superior . In Nicklaus' book Golf My Way which I read 5 times Nicklaus freely admits his short wedge play was sub par - which is one of the reasons he never finished the season with the lowest scoring avg .

In the U.S open vs Trevino in 1971 he left three balls in the sand in the first five holes effectively ending the playoff with Trevino . I have played Merion and have studied the traps Nicklaus left balls in -- they were not unusually difficult shots . Also Nicklaus in the same rd left a 90 ydg wedge dreadfully short due to hitting it fat that led to another bogey .

One can hate Tiger for his appetite for the ladies but to make divisive statements regarding his prowess on a golf course would be like taking pot shots @ Michelangelo for his fresco's on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel .

I agree w Tex next yr is showtime -- Due to his superior physical conditioning and having struck the ball beautifully in three of his last five events I believe we are in for another 5-9 yr run from the greatest talent in the history of the game . To Tex' point regarding enjoying him when he is on the leaderboard - sponsors and the TV networks sure as shit hope my prediction comes to fruition .

He is the most popular athlete in the world - I can't wait for his inevitable return to glory.

Your going to be waiting forever for that return to glory. I love the game and have studied the history of the game. I was also a Ouimet Scholarship winner. He drives the ball subpar, chips the ball like an amateur and doesn't putt good enough anymore. I enjoy your posts about ND football. We have a bunch of haters here but I am so glad we have Kelly in charge of ND football.
I don't care about total wins . Tiger himself has said numerous times that it is all about majors. Then when he started missing cuts, he is content winning the Fig Newton Open.
If he took advice he would have stopped spending 8 hours in the gym and worked on his game. Vijay and Jack never had all the injuiries Tiger has endured. I miss him playing well because there was always a buzz about a Tournament. He is a vile human being so Karma is biting him in his backside.

It's off topic and all and hijacking this thread, but Tiger has shot 8 rounds in the 60's over the last 2 months. Including a 64 and a 65. If I can shoot that kind of number and be considered done, I'd be one happy camper. Can you imaging shooting a 64 and have a bunch of internet trolls and TV talking heads say your career was done?
