Interesting factoid from The Athletic this morning:
"3. Jeremiyah Love has six 30-yard runs this season, including that 68-yard touchdown to open the second half where Army never had a chance.
Georgia has four 30-yard runs this year. Oregon has three.
What’s left to say about the sophomore? Other than he’ll be a junior next season."
Love's home run ability was obvious last year, but he has really impressed me this year with how much he has improved his inside game. He is a surprisingly punishing and tough runner for a guy his size. The weight he added from last season to this season (about 20 lbs?) have really made a difference. And it seems like the extra weight is all solid muscle. I also loves how he attacks opposing rushers in pass protection. He has laid out a few of them this year.
And then there is Jadarian Price. Love and Jadarian Price are a special pair of backs. We'll be in good hands with them next year.
And Aneyas Williams may be the next backfield stud. He looks like a load to bring down and surprised me with his speed on the long run against Army. He doesn't have the burst of Love--few do--or the quick moves of Price, but he is a very solid looking RB, and has looked really good catching the ball. I read somewhere that Aneyas' father (who apparently died when Aneyas was very young) ran a 10.5 100m, so maybe the speed component is in his genes.
