Interesting factoid from The Athletic this morning:

"3. Jeremiyah Love has six 30-yard runs this season, including that 68-yard touchdown to open the second half where Army never had a chance.

Georgia has four 30-yard runs this year. Oregon has three.

What’s left to say about the sophomore? Other than he’ll be a junior next season."

Love's home run ability was obvious last year, but he has really impressed me this year with how much he has improved his inside game. He is a surprisingly punishing and tough runner for a guy his size. The weight he added from last season to this season (about 20 lbs?) have really made a difference. And it seems like the extra weight is all solid muscle. I also loves how he attacks opposing rushers in pass protection. He has laid out a few of them this year.

And then there is Jadarian Price. Love and Jadarian Price are a special pair of backs. We'll be in good hands with them next year.

And Aneyas Williams may be the next backfield stud. He looks like a load to bring down and surprised me with his speed on the long run against Army. He doesn't have the burst of Love--few do--or the quick moves of Price, but he is a very solid looking RB, and has looked really good catching the ball. I read somewhere that Aneyas' father (who apparently died when Aneyas was very young) ran a 10.5 100m, so maybe the speed component is in his genes.

J Price has multiple more than 30 yard runs as well. We've had a large number of long-gaining run plays. The offense has been great. And maybe because JL is such an iffy passer, that it forced our hand, and it brought the best out of the offense. We're a machine on both sides of the ball.

You're right about Jadarian. According to the ESPN game log, he has had TD runs of 47y (TAMU), 70y (Purdue) and 65y (FSU). The one against Purdue was pretty special, considering we were just trying to run out the clock before halftime, and instead Jadarian took it to the house. Both Jadarian and Jeremiyah are averaging 7.0 ypc. Considering how often opponents have stacked the box against us because they don't think Riley can throw, that is pretty impressive.

You can almost tell from the TV angle when J. Love has a crease and will hit a home run. He hits the LOS and the 2nd gear kicks in. A thing of beauty to watch.

Been saying it all year he's the best player on the team and criminally underused...11 carries a game?? C'mon JD is damn good also and deserves his carries but, JL has to touch the ball more!🍀

Why use him up during the season? We may have 5 games left. The way they are using him is just right

Love needs touches, Price needs touches, Riley has to run and throw. There's only one ball to go around

I thought the same thing, but now I'm wondering if his low number of carries is due to the fact that we have been scoring so easily. We are seeing a lot of five and six-play drives, not the 10-to-12 variety, where a back like Love would pick up another half dozen carries during a game.

Agree- he needs touches, no doubt. But they've found the balance of using him effectively and all while keeping him healthy.

With 5 games left, his workload may go up. Then again, Price and Leonard need touches too.

The O is absolutely rolling right now. It's fun to watch.
