Jackson Arnold Flipping

Some rumors on Jackson Arnold flipping. Any smoke ?
Nov 21
“We have a good relationship, and I want it to stay that way because I really love Notre Dame, the coaches and what the program is doing,” explained Arnold. “Notre Dame is definitely one of my top schools right now.”

He won't want to flip now, knowing that Drew Pyne will be starting for two more years.....

On top of that, I'm sure he's a nice guy, but holy shit was that dude ever born to play at a school like OU. You couldn't be any more 'Big 12' than Jackson Arnold....

I highly doubt he’s concerned about that. Likely more that for some reason he never was feeling it with Rees like he was Lebby. I think maybe he is now seeing Rees is the better coach of the two.

hmm, if he was a ND commit, he would be being trashed as afraid to compete or he is overrated or ….
but as a potential decommit elsewhere, he is a hopeful hopefore prospect.

Maybe...he's perfectly content with that. RS one year...play mop up duty for one year...take the reins with two years remaining

God forbib, eh'

Uhm based on what? Seriously, would be nice if true but what I’ve seen is a ridiculously vanilla offense vs teams of far inferior talent. Our WR are barely involved , not sure if that would excite me as a young qb. And what qb’s has Tom developed that are playing well in nfl? I’m not hear to support Lebby but I’m not seeing anything so creative from Reese

Lebby is having a way worse year than Rees. Rees has not been OC long enough to have multiple QBs in the NFL. The only two he coached played there. He now has a 5’9 kid with the best QB rating in program history. I’m not a Rees apologist and I’ve been plenty critical, but he’s better than people give him credit for.

People all over the football world believe Rees is one of the best OC coordinator-qb coaches in the game right now, who will take over his own program/nfl team soon. But ND fans think Rees is trash. lol

You have a 3 star QB who came to ND, beat out all of the star prospects on the depth chart, produces historically great numbers, then graduates and turns into a coaching prodigy at his own alma mater. He was even a major piece in the team's 2012 BCS run.

You would think this would earn him endearment from the ND fan base, but instead it's mostly hate.

I think the real reason he chose OU is because ND screeed up n slow played him n vizzina n Avery Johnson because of Dante Moore When will Rees learn that the guy who commits first is tbd one you ride

He seems to be a better coordinator than QB, thank God. However, I don't have the fond memories of Rees at QB that you do. There may not have been any better options at QB while Rees was there, but I recall too many turnovers during his time. The Tommy turnover or turnover machine nicknames were for a reason.

Really? People all over the football world? Dopey-ass Tommy Rees? I know former UConn QB Dan Orlovsky made up some rumor that the Rams were going to hire him, but that's about it. Oh, and BK wanted to hire him at LSU. His mentor who taught him everything he knows. And you're right, he did beat out hapless former five-star Dayne Crist. And Nate Montana.....

I think the criticism on him is mostly recruiting. The lack of WR talent last year and getting Angeli instead of a great QB plus dropping the ball in ‘23 and getting burned by the Moore family circus show is what earns him the criticism from me. I was never big on Buchner.

His coaching has not been my criticism. In fact, I think he’s done more with less (developed lesser QBs). Though they don’t see it that way, if I’m a five star QB I don’t care what Ohio State did with Stroud or Justin fields. I care more what ND did with Ian Book and Drew Pyne. That would get my attention. If he can do that with them, imagine what he could do for me. It’s a true measure of coaching what one can do with lesser talent.

Do I think Rees would do more with Arnold than Lebby? Yes, I do. Our offensive talent coming in is off the charts and OK can’t even score a field goal in the last 4 quarters they’ve played. But Rees will instead be working overtime turning Pyne into a poor man’s Drew Brees, while Lebby recruits the hell out of Arnold, and then gets shit canned. Go Kansas.

I like Pyne but Pyne will not be starting next season, unless ND has injuries to the QB position again.
Just for opinions sake, do you consider Pyne a Top 25; a Top 26-50 QB ? Was TR a Top 50 QB during his playing days?

(Consider that some teams may have 2 QB’s on the roster who would be higher ranked.)

and do you consider below an ‘elite’ evaluation? (247 scouting report)
“…Adequate height with the requisite frame and solid build. Functional athlete with enough suddenness in tight quarters to evade pass rushers and extend plays. RPO threat. Ball gets out fast with good velocity to multiple levels. Very good touch passer, whether vertically to the perimeter or elsewhere. Displays the requisite deep-ball strength fostered by a loose, live arm. Changes delivery angle as needed and maintains zip and accuracy. Shows ability to layer throws and beat zone windows. Good runner with above average speed relative to position and open-field lateral nuance that yields extra yards. Advanced pocket presence and rush awareness. Uses the inverted pivot to buy time and find receivers. Accurate from the pocket and on the move. Owns the desired demeanor for the position….”

I how we get someone better. Just pointing out he has 3 years of eligibility after this year

Who cares what people think. We've all watched every single game he has been the OC. he's been up and down, good and bad. I don't see some genius oc in the making. I don't see lincoln Riley or Ryan Day. He seems adequate this far. Nothing special yet

Ryan Day and Lincoln Riley have studs 2-3 deep at QB, WR, RB.
All of NDs studs are on defense, o-line and TE.

Yet Rees is the QB mostly responsible for taking us to the 2012 title game. A 3 star kid who wasn't even suppose to play. This fan base has become a joke

That's partly Rees' fault. He's the OC and Qb coach. LR took a no name transfer from TT and made him a Heisman trophy winner. Recruit better and coach better

How about Mike Leach? His teams don't have the studs we do but he puts up more points than us
