Ideal finish for the 24 class

After reading a few articles, it sounds like ship Nelson has sailed. Nebraska is now the heavy favorite
I wouldn’t be surprised, but I’m skeptical. He just had his visit so I’m sure emotions are high considering it’s his hometown team. But literally a couple days ago I heard it was ND-Georgia for him. So I wouldn’t write him off totally yet.

With that said, Nelson is a beast but is probably our 5th most important recruit remaining

"Articles..."

Off topic but when was the last QB ND signed ranked this high, Crist? Also, receiver- Floyd? *I understand they haven’t signed yet

Some of NDs highest rated QB prospects over the last 5-7 years or so:
  • Gunner Kiel (#26 OVERALL)
  • Brandon Wimbush (#43 OVR)
  • Tyler Buchner (#71 OVR)
  • CJ Carr (#47 OVR)

I think ND gets lambert, KVA, Scott after ND beats the bucks in September and a mystery recruite .

We have room for what, 6/7 more guys? Assuming no decommits, in an ideal world we’d land

Rushing
Scott
KVA
Tae
Beasley
Lambert
Shaw
Nelson

That would put us at 27 which is probably a bit much. Of those guys, the only lock is Tae. Rushing and Scott I think are gone, which puts us at 25. If we could sign the rest of those guys, this would probably still be the best class we’ve had in awhile. Lambert and KVA are probably the most important left that we have a real shot at…
If the names on your list I only see Tae who just committed and kva as possibles. Nelson fading. Shaw maybe. Scott maybe. Others pipe dream if Tennessee sux n we r good, Beasley may flip Hope that Miami sux also I mean sux. Like bad

Agreed although you forgot lambert who I think we have as good a shot as we do with kva

Yet you keep complaining about lower ranked guys getting spots ..

The narrative is hilarious on this board. When Kelly was here it was all....he's not even trying to land top guys....

Now with freeman it's more about the guys he misses on and ignore the ones he gets. He's improved blue chip ratio, turned the cb position into a strength, maintained high level ol and te recruiting and improved lb recruiting, wr recruiting (by a ton), rb recruiting, QB recruiting has gone up...

Yet let's concentrate on the misses. It's unreal

The only weak spots on recruiting so far are
1. Safety (although Patrick Bowen and family were telling him and players the day before signing day he was going to ND and of he signs this flips. I don't blame him for the kid going rogue). Facts are facts though. He wiffed one year, got stood up last year, and may have panicked for numbers this year.
2. Dtackle - gotta get some beef at some point. No coach takes more crap for his losses recruiting than Washington. BUT HE IS SWINGING FOR BIG TIME GUYS. we need one to hit, but Kelly didn't even try for these guys The dl underachieved last year, but scuttlebut was that the elders didn't buy into the changes...and the young guys have. This year could prove a lot.
3. OT - this really doesn't concern me as much as others as this year's class wasn't great at ot and next year's is loaded. If Rudolph goes back to the take 4 tackles and work it out as has been rumored going forward this will work itself out. If Lambert comes it's a non issue. Rudolph has done well considering when he came in and who he replaced

He was hired to recruit dummy. He didn’t get hired bc of his goods looks or bc he had experience winning.

I was high on Freeman as I thought recruiting would improve. His on field performance and recruiting is leaving a lot to be desired.

He got hired first and foremost because hes a great defensive coach. If he couldn't coach a side of the ball and only recruit he wouldn't be HC here. Second he got hired because he's a great recruiter and he's proved that so far in the 22, 23, 24 and 25 classes. He also got hired because he a natural leader. Those type of coaches tend to land head coach jobs

Well he said they had top 50 upside. His grade for them wasn't top 50

And I think everyone on every ND site said the same about Alt. That was an easy one

He definitely hit on Morrison as others did not view him like that

Mullins hasn't hit yet. But I agree with him. I have no idea whatsoever how he is so lowly ranked

One. Do better than a personal attack.

Two. Read the rest of the post where it's clear he's increased the blue chip ratio and multiple position group.

Reading comprehension can be hard.

To be clear NO ONE GETS HIRED AS A NEW COACH BECAUSE THEY CAN RECRUIT, HE WAS HIRED TO COACH!

The fact he was seen as a great recruiter was part of his resume, but the idea he was hired solely to recruit is dubious at best. Lots of guys can recruit.

Again. Someone provide real data on how recruiting has been bad under freeman.

My guess is you can't outside of missing on big time recruits that the previous admin wouldn't have tried for.

Oh and a nugget on Washington and his recruiting... His REACHES last year to fill the class apparently showed out with regards to pre enrollment weight program.

Honestly it was a big mistake bringing Golden back. They should’ve let him move on after last year. The guy isn’t the one. He’s just a middle of the road DC. Not ND material. I do not agree with the let them have their chance for 2-3 years crap. if you aren’t an overly great recruiter or coach in year 1, hit the street.

Though his first year recruiting average was 3.83 stars ….compared to BK’s first year at 3.39

Thx for trying out

Doesn’t matter what the player rating was. If all of the teams above you also increased theirs, which they did (we are still ranked #12 and likely finish outside the top 12 in 2024), then you break even. It’s how inflation works too. You are dumb enough to think you are making 5% more on your 5% raise but if inflation is 5% you aren’t buying shit and you’re not closing the gap on the rich folks that also pay 5% more.

You aren't interested in dialogue, no matter which facts are presented.

You have a narrative for anything.

Everyone else is full of shit, right?

Look, I’m not your sped teacher teacher. If college football gets 12 Caleb Williams’s next year, the one team that had him isn’t going to be as good. It’s common sense. Your player rating doesn’t mean squat if your competition is still ahead of you by the same margin.
chaseball. Get Nasty.

They're your guys.

Both push narratives as well.

I hope that’s true but if you’re simply going off of what Singer said today, realize he is usually a month behind.
I hope it's true as well. But in that business, it's all about clicks.
