Hate is a strong word, but it's definitely ridiculous. At the same time,"get used to it."

What year? My father was class of 54.

I don't hate it, but I do fear it promotes greed and selfishness, which we already have enough of. I'm sure its being used as a recruiting tactic.
Late 70's.

The 50's? I'm guessing the entire school would have been a collection of those old giant half pipes they repurposed from the Army Air bases.

I think it's going to make it much tougher for the have nots in HS football. Which I guess is what is happening in the college game.

Friends that coached public schools already used the private school ability to recruit from out of the area to minimize their success, This will turbocharge the argument.

But, as others say, I gotta get used to it.

Both Mater Dei and Bosco cheat their collective asses off to recruit elite football players to succeed, and it has spread to JSerra, Servite, and Santa Margarita. CIF has done all they can to separate them from the rest.

No problem with this. It's free enterprise.

My alma mater. Anyone else hate this?
It’s awful. High schools aren’t free enterprise, their childhood education institutions and many if not most of these private schools compete against regular Joe high schools. Ask my fellow Nevada high schools how they feel about being down 52-0 at half to Gorman. It’s asinine

Private high schools are indeed free enterprise. They answer to no one.

Parochial schools across the country have been " recruiting " forever and it's been common knowledge forever. Each state association has its own rules regarding "transfers". I would imagine the entire situation will continue to be fluid just like it is at the collegiate level.

For years here in Ohio there were calls for a separate division for parochial schools. That has quieted down as more and more districts went the open enrollment route. As in just about everything follow the money.

After watching the USC Rob Ryan video I would already say that paying HS and college players has already ruined college football. Nothing else surprises me after watching that nonsense but I do think that as long as money is involved it will trickle down to the HS level nationally for sure.
