If Kelly keeps playing two transfers, I feel like we are going to see some talented young guys depart and honestly who can blame them. If Cam Smith and Freddy Canteen are indeed that much better then that is a failure on the coaches for not developing the guys that have been their.

Well said. Just like Joe Schmidt "earned" his and Cam McDaniel "earned" his and ND earned their first major NYD bowl win in 24 years to stop the ESPN snickering. Well the last part never happened but Greg Bryant was forced to transfer and his life tragically ended. Kelly/ND is not completely free of guilt in this tragedy either in the way they demoralized this kid and backed him into a corner and made him leave the ND bubble and end up back on the mean streets he grew up in.

Stepherson and claypool are both more talented the the 2 transfers. No one can deny that at all. We as fans can only watch the game coaches see Monday - Sunday. IMO Smith has benefitted greatly by having his former coach as his position coach. Call it favoritism or whatever but I did not see him separate himself from the DB at all. It's early but Claypool needs to get more reps with ESB . He is a baaller with size . Smith might do everything well but this offense can use more star power at the wideout position. That lot position is strange . ND is better off with using 3 -TE sets this week with ESB as the lone wideout. The 3 _TE set can be used in play action but more importantly get a hat on a hat up front. Can't go from running 422 to 100 this week because of scheme. Line up and mash ! Make a statement with the backs and get in Mack's face and make him be a great TE. I'm ready now for this game lol.

Coach Kelly did say that several more WR & LB weapons would be used on offense and defense against Georgia this Saturday night. Coach predicted Coney would have a big impact on ND over his remaining career at ND.
