Kelly seems to get trashed on this site whenever ND loses a game and it is inferred by some that anything less than 12-0 or 11-1 is mediocre or pedestrian

To those horses asses may I remind you that the two teams playing today for the AFC championship each lost 4 games this season and that is playing vs a level playing field - see draft/ free agency . ND has to play the clemsons and usc's of the world who have no academic standards and will take any nit wit who can run a fast 40 yd dash .

Like any true ND fan I am crestfallen when we lose a game but 10-2 ain't bad --is it the ultimate ? No 2012 was, but it ain't bad .

Kelly is moving us in the direction of greatness dam shame having to filter the horseshit on this board waiting to get there .

Losing by itself is forgiveable .... many homers here lack the mental capacity to see how they lose .... when a loss is directly influenced by terrible coaching decisions .... that is not how you want to lose

Lots of teams would take 10-2. That is a huge success for them. The expectations are higher here given prior history.

Brian Kelly is doing good things. Getting good players and turning over every stone on any kid that could fit. Not done since Holtz.

Wonderful.

With that said I will refrain from showering praises until there is just a general feel we've taken that last step to program elite.

I'm not talking about winning it all...but lets say winning 2 of 3 new years games.

A team that walks into a hostile environment against a top team and doesn't get overwhelmed for the first 11/2 quarter.

That is the team I'm hoping to see because when that happens championships could be possible.

ND will be at a disadvantage now and in the future due to the scholarship limits. Rockne,Leahy ,Parsegian all would find it difficult to win under these circumstances. Holtz was given a little bit of leverage ( recruits) by the administration but that was stopped by the same administration when Lou fell out of favor.
