Not the most exciting position but Kelly and the coaches have done an amazing job recruiting on the O-line. The past few seasons have produced some studs and we continue to add depth with this new 2017 recruit so I have to give credit where credit is due. Teams don't win without a good front, especially on the offensive side in college football and it is a positive I hope other kids looking at Notre Dame will recognize.

Go Irish!

Yes, Harry has a real knack of connecting with his top targets, and it's really interesting how he is consistently getting early commits. As much as I am encouraged by our OL recruiting, I feel the same nearly across the board. As Continually points out, our Receiving haul this past year is looking to be outstanding and elite as a group. I remember a few years ago the board was fixated on Kelly's inability to recruits receivers. Then it was his inability to recruit defensive backs. And now, it's his inability to recruit DL. I've been as concerned as most about the lack of a rush DE, and expect they'll close this gap just as they have the receiver and DB issues in years past.

without a good offensive line WR's are useless

This is very true and I agree with the post above about our secondary, hasn't been good for a while but hopefully some kids step up because Russell should be solid. The difference between what I am talking about with the offensive line though, and say the receivers, is that we are getting top level recruits on the O-line and they are being developed. Our WR's are definitely good and it is nice to see the depth, like the O-line has, but I don't see big time players yet... it isn't like we have another Tim Brown type player ready to start.

Hey I wasn't here to argue but merely looking at the positives of our recruiting because I know I have looked at a lot of negatives over the past few seasons, with regards to not getting some key players. The coaches deserve credit for this as well as getting the offensive line ready and it is very important with Malik taking over, considering he maybe running much more than EG did.

Hoping for the best... Go Irish!

Now if we could get the same level D line prospects as O line we would be nasty on game day.

Tex re DL

Trumbetti - Bonner - Day - Hayes - R Okawara - Cage - Tillery - Rochell - Blankenship and now Randolph is surfacing -

DL as it was last yr pre injuries will be a strength of this years football team

If Trumbetti and Randolph surface as pass rushers we are loaded for the season

Yep, thought Trumbetti was very good last year and expect major contribution from him this year. Pleasantly surprised to see Randolph in the mix with lots of positive reviews. Thought we would be reading more about Bonner at this point, but have high hopes for his development as well. Like I said, very encouraged with our recruiting across the board, and Kelly's knack for successfully moving guys around to fill gaps, much like Holtz was know to do.

The Offensive Line sets the tempo for the entire football team. A great OL can protect your passer, control the Time of Possession and protect your defense. Last years OL was short circuited by a defense that was porous after Week 6, and a QB who could not comprehend pass protection or ball security if his very life depended on it. In the half of football against USC and the Music City Bowl, Malik Zaire appears poised, aware of his protections and understands the value of the football. That alone will make ND a much, much, better football team in 2015

Depending on how our current class shapes up (appears to be a "depth class" thus far), ND appears to be set offensively for years to come. The defense is looking ok. Like him or not, BK is recruiting awesome talent on both sides of the ball. When I look back at previous rosters (before BK and during his first two seasons), I just think he inherited a mess! Just as Michigan fans could find out under JH (although he could turn things around fast), it takes more than just a couple years to build a consistent winner...it is a marathon and not a sprint, especially at ND with their high standards. We continue to lack depth on the DL, but I am not sure that can be blamed on BK. There are plenty of big bodies around the country (we got a few last year), but most of them are from SEC country or cannot get into ND. I think BK is close, and my only fear is him leaving and ND having to start over again. As excited as everyone is this year, if some of our stars come back and pass up the NFL, next year is going to be a lot of fun too. GO IRISH, take one game at a time (Texas, even though they have been struggling, is still Texas with PLENTY of talent).

Remember the talk when HH was hired. He wasnt a good recruiter. Garbage

seriously buddy... I think we have some depth but no pass rushers that I can think of and that hurts. we need another tuck on the end because we have some mean guys in the middle that remind of zorich and you can never have enough mad defensive linemen like zorich!
