Here to eat crow. But it wasn’t pretty either.

After the opening fumble, the first quarter was great. The rest of the game was pretty much so-so in my book on a lot of different fronts.

People have brought up a lot of issues with this team, from the disappointing performance of the DL; the injury attrition and youth of the OL; Leonard's shortcomings; coaching blunders, and even questions about conditioning (because we sure as hell seem to be seeing guys' knees pop out more than would be expected.) I think all of them are reasonable concerns, as it seems there are just more questions than answers at this point.

We need the bye, but even with that, I just don't going undefeated the rest of the way. Probably looking at 9-3 with some post-Christmas, pre-New Year's bowl game for a shot to go 10-3.
Agree that we need the bye badly. The 1st 5 weeks have been an emotional roller coaster for this team. We need 2 weeks to get guys healthy. Realign a few position groups (OL, Secondary, DL). Then let the staff assess current state, and build a realistic gameplan for the next 3 weeks (we have another bye in early November).

You mentioned 9-3. Where do you think the 2 losses are? Probably USC.....and who else?

I, unfortunately, think just about any of our upcoming opponents could upset this team, especially if we lose another lineman or two.

I’m here fellas. Where you all at ? Let’s talk.

Sloppy game for both, TOs for both teams lead to points. If you erase the TO's, both D's settled into the game plan. Coaches both made mistakes. Brohm using up his TO's with some pretty stupid takes was the biggest for you, for us its MF going on 4th and 3 while averaging 2.2 yards over most of the second half. So coaching honestly seemed a bit more lax on the Cards side.

Our D is real, but we are piling up on injuries so your really looking at some of the future and 2 down. I cant say about the Cards.

I think with a big lead, and our Defense, Denbrock and MF went into a 4 corner offense opting to down shift only when it got close. So its hard to read in the 2nd half as I think they were "protecting" a bit.....

Your one WR is better than our entire team minus Faison (who got hurt).

All in all, good game.....that looks like a top 15 team to me. I have a feeling you will win the ACC and we will meet again hopefully in the playoffs. Good luck the rest of the way.

I certainly agree in a sense that it could happen.

I guess I'm trusting the staff and trusting our best players to carry this team vs everyone left, up until USC. That game in LA is gonna be a heavy lift.

I also think the bye, coming now, is critical. The staff can kind of reset things, based on all of the crazy stuff we've seen these last 5 weeks. I'm trusting the staff to identify and sustain "what works".

Agree. Fortunately the schedule is soft enough to hopefully get up to USC 10-1.
