Every year something bites ND in the but as if they were cursed. ND went from having the best ND room in decades to being one injury away from having a true freshman and a red shirt sophomore who has no real game action on the 11th hour being the portal closes on Monday, buts let’s face it who would want to come to ND to sit behind SH for their last year. The takers are few and far between.
I have nothing against the backups but my confidence is very low versus TB who I believe is making a huge mistake by going to Bama. It would have been wise to get his degree with two years of eligibility left to do what he wants with. Somebody got into his head

It’s unfortunate that Buckner is leaving for another school, but I think we all knew that. To be honest I’m surprised he went through spring practices in the first place. He could’ve gotten a jumpstart at another school by leaving in January.

The odds of Hartman staying healthy vs. the odds of Buchner staying healthy is much better. Hartman will throw it away to avoid the hit and the pick. Buchner will tuck and run, or throw into coverage. Its feast or famine for Buchner. When he runs for 8 or 9 yards, its all good. But try that over the course of the season and see what happens. We were able to see this in the bowl game against South Carolina....the scrambles and the picks....and the final score was nice. But Buchner didn't have to grind out the season before the bowl game, either. He was busy rehabbing.

The two back ups are a guy with zero college snaps and a true freshman. Yikes!
I've become increasingly disappointed with the personnel moves over the last 6 months or so. Pretty much everything about the way the roster (and even recruiting) is being handled reeks of inexperience on part of the head coach.

Loser.

2024-2025 will be a nightmare. Should have played the long game and invested in TB rather than a 1 year band aid. If ND wins the Natty this year, I’ll eat crow.
2024 could be a challenge if we don't hit the portal for qb and the young players at DLine/LB don't play a ton this year.

And, of course, you're not surprised.

Nor am I.

I've never believed in FREEMAN, THE RECRUITER (a kind of SUPERHERO take) vs. the Godzillas and King Kongs of NIL and THE PORTAL.

My sense is that Freeman's lack of coaching experience will also again be TESTED this year. New staff, no injury margin at QB, extremely high -- and often UNREALISTIC -- expectations.

The guy can only bring to the fight WHAT HE HAS.

Anyone have Advil?

Nobody cares what you think.

If ND wins the Natty this year...
and if my aunt had a penis she'd be my uncle instead
Utter nonsense, once again.
do you actually have anything of substance to respond with that you'd like to share or you just going to join the mob of fans who continue to spam the board with personal attacks and derail discussion?

Well, maybe that’s because he is inexperienced. But this is a known known so no one can be surprised. I still think we win 10-11 games on pure talent advantage , although usc is catching up pretty quickly.

It wouldn't be a bad thing for minchey to get some starts due to injury.... For a playoff run though that would be crippling.

I'd rather minchey get some plays this year and be ready next, vs us hot the portal again.

I agree. Hopefully SH and company can have some major blowouts to get KM some PT.

Well..... actually your aunt could have a penis and still be your aunt in today's world.

I think if TB doesn’t get hurt this past year there is no Hartman.

Anyone that thinks Buchner would be anything but a mess starting now is an idiot.
I would pay money for you to say that to an Alabama fans face. It's good enough for the greatest coach of our era, but not this moron.

It's great that we can all have "opinions"... I for one love all of the moves.. this team looks outstanding... yes young but outstanding... and to have a QB with Hartman's experience and CONFIDENCE.. makes for a great year with a team that was very good, without a great QB ....
