Hard hitting Fighting Kelly’s of LSU

FSU built this year on transfers as well. If you aren't including those the rankings are pointless
Good point. The MSU kid was great as we already established. LSU also had transfers. In fact, their transfers were ranked 2 and FSU’s were ranked 6 by 247. And LSU was ranked 12, FSU ranked 13 by rivals. So my point stands - LSU has more talent. And early days but LSU has more projected NFL picks than FSU

I didn’t ignore a statistic borne of a compilation of unrelated circumstances.
Funny how you didn’t challenge FSU’s coach for going for it on 4th down.
Each decision is situational.
Early in the game and if you don’t make it the other team has to go 98 yards.
Make it and it can change the game.

I didn’t ignore anything and 6 points wasn’t going to change the outcome, but TD’s and TOP could have.

Why would you blitz in the second half if you were winning and dominating in the first half without blitzing ?

Answer that question !
You know nothing about football other than your 20-20 hindsight.

You don’t know if blitzing would have had any impact on FSU’s passing.
You don’t even know what LSU’s blitz packages are and which ones could have been called.
All you know is how to bitch after the plays are called, you’re a great 20-20 hindsight critic.

Now tell us what Dabo should have done in the second half against Duke.

P.S. With me, every day is a great day ! 👍
The thread wasn’t about the winning coach, it was about the losing coach. My you get confused easily.

And you have all sides covered in all your threads.

And I was quite fair in my remarks. Sorry you get so rustled about BK

Have a good nite Paqui, make sure to use the rubber underwear

Once the Transfer Portal opened up recruiting rankings took a hit.

Only a moron like BGI USER would imply that recruiting is responsible for FSU‘s, Colorado’s and other teams’ success this year is due to recruiting !
Haha. Knew you would jump on this without any research. LSU recruiting portal was ranked 2nd, FSU ranked 6th by 247; and LSU ranked 12, FSU ranked 13 by rivals. Lol

Thx for trying out

The answer is simple, all of the know nothings were criticizing Kelly for not being able to beat top teams and then he goes and beats Alabama, a top team, ergo he proved you wrong and deserved credit for the win, as do those who were on the field !
Everyone gets lucky once. That's what I chalk that up to. 😆

Not true, Last year everyone was bashing Kelly for not being able to beat top teams, and then he goes and beats a top team in Alabama, proving all of you critics wrong.

Ergo, I felt it appropriate to rub it in your faces !

I‘m no fan of Kelly, but I have to give the devil his due. He resurrected football at ND and that’s undeniable !
Love how you said “not true,” and then followed it up with proving my point 😂.

Thanks Pat, according to you, Kelly beat Alabama but the players this weekend lost to FSU.

I’m glad Kelly was at ND. I’m also glad he decided to leave. It was time. I never would’ve bashed him if he didn’t leave in the way he did. No statement about his time here, no thank you’s to the fans/university. Classless.

Do I root for him to lose every game? No.
Do I chuckle when he gets blown out in the 2nd half of a season opener? Absolutely.

Can't we all just agree that Brian Kelly is a good coach, not a great coach, and a big douche bag too.

Yes.

He did well at ND. A top 15 coach IMO. But never got over the hump. And he didn’t work hard enough at recruiting. And besides being low class in how he left, he misrepresented the entire circumstance after the fact.

And he was terrible on Sunday!

I certainly didn’t prove your point, apparently you neglected to read my explanation.

But we certainly agree on the inappropriate way in how he departed from ND.

I was critical of Kelly dating back to 2012.

As I’ve said many times, you have to give the devil his due.
He resurrected ND football and his record over the last five years is excellent.

But, he’s gone !

Time to focus on ND !

You don’t know what you’re talking about !

You’re also forgetting about the existing base of players.

Recruiting out of high school and recruiting experienced college players via the Portal are two separate and distinct activities.

And when you consider the number of experienced players transferring in, via the Portal, it becomes immediately obvious that you can build a team in one year, vis a vis Colorado.

Tell us again how you would change LSU’s defense in the second half from the defense that had been successful in the first half.

You know nothing about football.

Paqui, this post is pathetic. Another pivot. You must have pulled your fallopian again.

I didn’t forget about the existing base of players - I had already cited the previous 5 years of recruiting rankings of both teams, to which you replied with your portal comment. I then dispelled such by sharing the portal rankings.

Try to keep up with the rest of us. This is 5th grade math!!!

That was very rare for a Kelly coached team. The halftime adjustments were usually good, especially on defense. Last year's Navy game is the only example I can think of where Notre Dame did well in the first half and got outplayed in the second, and Kelly wasn't even coaching that game.
Wow. Just wow. What Kelly team were u watching the past 12 years? Or did h just watch the first h ad leg of his games?

Ouch!

You keep avoiding the questions.
Tell us how and why you would have changed the defense in the second half that was working well in the first half.

As to the quality of FSU’s roster, FSU won its final six games last season and then returned nearly everyone for coach Mike Norvell’s fourth season, including Travis, standout receiver Johnny Wilson and pass rusher Jared Verse, ergo they were loaded with returning talent and added to it vis a vis the transfer portal.

The test of a team’s metal is based upon what they produce on the field and not what some subjective recruiting rankings are assigned to them
