After Schuler got the unsportsmanlike penalty for tossing ball to player on sideline I've been noticing how many personal fouls teams commit by not abiding by the hand the ball to the ref philosophy.
I noticed against Indiana the Big12 officials were taken aback when Greathouse or Thomas* I think it was jumped up excitedly and dropped the football and scrambled to pick it up to hand it to the them.. because I'm guessing it's extremely rare for other teams to and it was like Greathouse remembered oh shit this might be an extra sprint if I don't hand the ball to the refs.
