Guerby Lambert, 24 Class

He’s great. sjb and echo do not like him bc he seems to have the mildest bit of conservative/normal Christian values.

IB is on like twice a day now. They do their homework better than anyone else and out work everyone else by a mile. Singer is always on like a day or two later with info that everyone already knows about. Then there’s a huge drop off from there with most being relatively invisible.

Apparently Loy is okay if you pay money but he’s relatively off the grid it seems.
His work ethic is great, however his level of control over the good/bad narrative is a bit of an issue... I think he appears to be working on it. They are no longer telegraphing commits with live shows.

The Dante Moore fiasco and the Justin Scott thing this year were both reported as must gets by BD in like March of each year... It was trumpeted all the time...and then when both go elsewhere the entire freaking fan base loses faith.. it drove tons of clicks but people also need to use common sense. He's a great resource, but his opinion shouldn't automatically replace your own.

Bump

This is the last elite uncommitted player left on the board. Top 50 player. Elite Left Tackle

All eyes and focus moves to Guerby now. Let's get this one finished and public

Very important huge piece to the class
Hoping he commits soon. Between him and KVA I was much more confident in Lambert. If we can get him locked in I would say this class has sufficient talent, despite some big misses and room for improvement going forward.

On Rivals, the last three team recruiting classes...2021-2022-2023, average 8.8, and 2024 is going well. The depth chart is not hurting. Is it an Alabama depth chart? Of course not, and will not be in the foreseeable future; however, Marcus Freeman has a fighting chance.
8.8 isn’t bad. I don’t think Bama has the number 1 roster anymore either. I’d say Georgia.
T am
Bama
Ohio state. If we can get to number 5 we have a great chance at getting in and actually winning a playoff game. Jmo.

There are many variables to consider.

Total talent as of now
Total talent as of time recruited
Total talent based on playing time (if you've got a bunch of 5 stars splitting time at one or two positions or multiple starting other positions)

Notre Dame top to bottom talent is very good but the fact is the 2 deep talent level doesn't match up well with most playoff teams. When you get to that level, OSU, Georgia, Alabama are lining up many fully formed 5 star guys and ND is lining up mostly 4 star guys and a few 3 stars that have been developed. For years Notre Dame was rolling out multiple 2-3 star level guys in the secondary against guys about to start in the NFL at wr.

MF has increased the floor considerably.

We seem to be loading up with higher level 4 star recruits, but are still missing out on elite recruits...or gap closers

That was the entire point of the "gap closing" recruit. To close the remaining gap with those playoff teams, Notre Dame will need to get a few 5 star talents to pair with the very strong 4 star lineup they are starting to put out

Where are the misses?

Knapp?
TBP?
Saldate?

I think he's referencing the players we missed on, not the players we have. Missed out a lot on DL, LB, Safety (we did land one of our top LB and safety prospects then missed on everyone else). Need Lambert on OL or OL would be disappointing. IT's another solid class we are in line for, with much improved skill, but slightly regressing in the trenches IMO.

BD'S fan base is very cult like. It's really bizarre. They pretty much drool over him and post about how great he is.
He does work hard and has great content . He can be pretty funny and sometimes moody but as long as he puts out reputable content it's all good

No regression in the trenches. Only at DT if we don't land anyone else

And Bryan Driskell agrees with his fan base. Just ask him.

Hes extremely important

Might come down to us and Osu
How did OSu get in picture? Guy visited BC, ND and Harvard. He goes to a Christian school and has said he likes ND cause it’s similar to his high school.

You said slightly regressing even with Lambert
yeah, only really high on jagusah from last year. So with lambert I think there's a slight decline over the last 2 years vs what we had been landing. Without lambert, a good bit of decline.

Help me out and please elaborate on this.

You don’t see at least 1 future starter in Otting, Pendleton, Tarek, or Absher?

Starter out of necessity or starter because they beat other good options? No i don't see Alt, Fisher, Schrauth, patterson, etc etc etc

I see more of a situation with Zeke where they could end up being the best we have, and I don't think it's good enough. I think the 4 you mention above are second team oline when you have a really good oline. In 2025 or 2026 one or two could be starting due to us not getting good enough oline.

I'm higher on Jagusah, lambert, Schrauth, Jones than those 4. I hope they are 4 of our starters in 2025 and 2026

Otting was one who HH's really pushed for . He won't play this year but one to watch for in the future
