I have sat on the bench a handful of times during major college basketball games courtesy of the head coach who I was friends with .
I would have been in fear of my life if I had done ANYTHING that would have put the team in harms way of a technical foul and I would have risked the respect and future relationship with the head coach if I chirped at a ref .
It is an unwritten rule that nobody NOBODY except the HC chips at the refs . Grimes is lucky BK had the self control not to hit him . As BK was quoted as saying " David was going to get a 15 yd penalty , I was not going to allow that to happen "

These games are difficult enough to win without distractions from someone who should clearly know better .

Kelly's lucky that he had the self-control to not hit Grimes. If he did, he'd have been fired today.

Yeah if Kelly had hit Grimes in national tv the media attention would be 100x worse and there is no way he survives that. Also you hit grimes you better hope he gets held back.

Watched the film of incident and Grimes was right in refs ear and was jawing . Kelly didn't have the time to talk through anything he had to get grimes away from the ref .
One thing is for sure make no mistake who is running the football team . I hope Grimes and Kelly talk things through to the benefit of all concerned .
