Settle down Cub fans. They haven't even won the National League pennant yet. And, after the way Cub fans treated Steve Bartman, one of their own, Cub fans deserve nothing. Watching all the Chicago politicians and celebrities gobble up all the good seats is par for the course. Someone ask the self proclaimed super duper Cub fan John Cusak what he was doing at the White Sox World Series games ten years back. I thought that was a line that couldn't be crossed. I just hope that the Cubs can play small ball if they have to because I'm not sure home run or bust will do it.

What fanbase do you think wouldn't have acted that way? (Not that it makes it justifiable). Its the way humans are across all fanbases...stupid.
I don't remember Blackhawk fans celebrating like they won the cup after round one. The Cubs won a "play in" game and a divisional series. The Chicago media and fan base are so starved that it only takes that accomplishment to close down the streets. That's like rushing the field after beating Utah. There is work to be had for the Cubbies to accomplish what they really want. They have been this close before so what's the hub bub? I am a Cubs and White Sox fan. I want these cats to win it all but I am more tempered in my excitement until at least they make it to the World Series. As far as the Yankee fans go, I'm sure the Yankee shortstop who committed a key error that actually led to all those runs being scored after the Bartman incident would also be a target. The Bartman play was nothing more than a foul ball. The shortstop error was a live play that led to destruction. Many Cub fans have a hard time processing that in that coconut they call a head.

Wherever there were a row of bars. I'm not really Chicago familiar. I heard on the Chicago news this morning that the street and bar celebration went on far into the early morning. Of course, I used to be young once.
Remember it's the Cubs. LOL

Theo Epstein is going down in baseball lore as the man who stopped the curse of the Bambino at Boston and the double curse at Chicago--the curse of the Billy Goat and the curse of Steve Bartman.
The cubs are the real deal and are going to be Champs this year.
I hope Irishnumberone predicts a cubs championship.....
Haven't the cub fans endured enough pain?
My favorite sign from yesterday's game was some Cub fan who wrote ...."Party like it's 1908". I found that to be pretty funny.
When the Cubs win something wake me. Fans remind me of Obama supporters. Freakin loons. LOL !!
As a National League guy always I would pull for them in a series.
to me there clearly is something to jinxes and such. What happened to the Red Sox and Cubs proves it. BUT it also goes to show that they can be broken. Was a cubs fan until the steroid garbage soured me on baseball all together but I will certainly celebrate if they pull it off.

when you have 70 or 80 years of that sort of thing with multiple owners and so on you have to think that there is something else going on. Look at all the heart breaking losses the Red Sox had over the years- with very good teams. The cubs had some really good teams but always something happened. Bad teams are one thing- good teams that have terrible things happen to them (69 mets, Bartman, etc) argues differently.I think it has less to do with jinxes and more to do with decades of failed management and leadership. Bad management tends to breeds bad results. The Cleveland Browns, for example, haven't been poor for the last few decades because of a jinx, but rather, through poor hiring and drafting. It's similar to the idea that you create your own luck.
