I have to say that the new punter has been pretty disappointing in my opinion. I know it's only two games but the line drive punts are an issue. You need that guy to be able to flip the field and help your defense.

It looks to me like he's not ever trying to punt it far, and shockingly enough, it doesn't go very far. We've had great opportunities to flip the field and have not.

Yeah the line drive late in the game was puzzling, and it didn't even go that far. We needed a booming punt there to flip the field. Not sure what's going on there, as other Australian punters have done very well in American football.

Line drive punts can be very effective. I remember going to the BYU game in 2004 and thinking that their punter was honestly the mvp of the game because he had our returners so baffled by his line drives into open space. It only works if the punter has good aim, though, and ours doesn't through these first two games. Not great.....
