Sanders fumble led to 7 pts
Brown fumble cost us 7 pts
Kizer INT cost us 3 pts and valuable minutes

not that great at math but I think that's a 17 pt swing -- please confirm

Kelly's 2 pt decision and subsequent result were unfortunate because of Kizer's pass and Robinson's whiff

Play was well designed Robinson was wide open Kizer simply put way too much juice on it and threw it too high - as one poster incorrectly observed " Kizer threw it high so no one else could catch it " .....correct including Robinson -- he was wide open and anyone who has any knowledge of throwing a football would know you take some juice off the ball and not make the receiver reach for the ball -- given the stakes and setting it is understandable that Kizer had the adrenaline goin on and put too much juice on it

Right call - good schematics execution by Kizer and Robinson was sub par ESPECIALLY given the conditions .- monsoon .

But is there anything of a factual nature in the OP that you disagree with?

On other posts, I've cited turnovers, slow starts in both halves, some maybe over conservative play calling, not to mention a good Clemson team as reasons for the loss.

We all know the turnovers led to Clemson scores. What those of us who have questioned the two-point conversion try are saying is that it was the wrong call at the time, regardless of how Clemson scored its points.

Forget the two point conversion. If Robinson makes the catch it's a good decision. He didn't so it was a bad decision. The bigger issue was the ball security. You simply cannot have 4 turnovers and win. It's that simple.

+1

Turnovers and dropped balls... end of story. Its amazing (and a credit to BVG & the defense) that they had a chance to tie it at the end.

I agree with MTIrish 100%. ND lost the game due to the inability to catch and hold onto the ball nothing else. All other decisions were based on these miscues and the 2 pt conversion and all other things are secondary. We would not have had to go for 2 pts if not for the dropped balls and fumbles.

On the other side of the ball, if Clemson had executed better the score could have been 50-0. Not sure what the point is?

e would not have had to go for 2 if Kelly realized that running the ball over and over again into 8 defenders was not working. MAYBE WE WOULD HAVE HAD MORE THAN 3 POINTS AFTER 3 QUARTERS.

I blame your apology for softening everyone up....

There is an old saying in sports ..... Physical mistakes are forgivable ..... Mental mistakes are not ..... Boneheaded coaching errors are always mental mistakes and thus unforgivable

That is the stuff you CAN control .... There actually is a big difference between a player fumbling and the coach being an idiot

Hey Bug. Hilarious post! On a side note, what do you think of the Louisville scandal, Real or fake? Can we grab some of their elite recruits?

I honestly haven't read any of the articles .... Almost nothing would surprise me .... Did Petino know? ... I have no clue ... What I do know is that Petino saying he didn't know sure as hell doesn't mean he didn't .... Could we grab some of their recruits? .... Maybe ? ... If so probably not many ... I don't think most of the players that go play for Petino would work out here ..... People still don't believe me when I say it but I think Brey brings in enough talent to be competitive ..... Recruiting is not his problem IMO..... The occasional stud would be awesome ... I just think if we had an in game coach we could get serious.

You know bonehead!!

Just one example of proof that I am not just smarter but more civil as well
Bug,

You have to remember these guys are Kelly fans, not ND football fans. They would rather throw 18 year old kids under the bus than a grown man who is supposed to coach them not to fumble and drop passes.
