I hope you've seen the video of Coach McElwain from Florida from last Saturday. Their fans are passing that off as "He's passionate about the game". It was so bad it was removed from YouTube.

What about Harbaugh's antics on the sidelines against Oregon State? The stadium went nuts when he went off on the refs. The fans loved it.

All coaches do it to some extent.

Kelly is our coach and that's how he is. Would you rather have Ty (the silent statue) Willingham?

actually Harbaugh was yelling at grown men. and he was right!

and, you know 2 people can do or say the same action/thing but it is received or perceived completely different.

It was FOUR seasons ago!!!

yup ^

so to still have the 'bit' to it and the lasting memory by many, ND fans and non-ND fans, is description of how extreme is was AT THE TIME. And I think because it was for the most part directed at his players.

The good news, Kelly definately became aware that cameras are an ever present thing to keep in mind.

I have a feeling that the antics that we saw from Michigan coach harbaugh this past weekend won't be the last. i'm looking forward the making a picture of one of his many antics this season my avatar pic

First, those guys don't work for the highest profile Catholic University in the world.

Second, Harbaugh went apocalyptic on the refs and it was a thing of beauty. Clipboard, papers flying everywhere....

Just once I'd love to see kelly deliver a ballistic tirade at the refs....

kelly's tirades don't appear to be confidence building events. They're tear downs. He's done it so often that it's ineffective. He obviously lacks discipline/patience..... not good qualities for a head coach....

kelly would be wise to take a page out of Dungy's book and now Pete Carroll's....

Did you catch Harbaugh coddling and encouraging his QB (Rudock) after multiple f ups in game 1?

The personal coaching was outstanding in a losing effort and it continued into a dominant 2nd game win.

Here's an interesting article from the LA Times...

http://www.latimes.com/sports/ucla/la-sp-ucla-mora-plaschke-20150821-column.html

"On game day, what you see me do is support those guys and be there for them," Mora said. "Out here it's about toughening them physically, mentally and emotionally to be able to go in that Rose Bowl in front of 85,000 fans against a great opponent and perform in a stressful situation."

"He does support his guys on game days. It is like he becomes a completely different kind of coach. He never rips his players even after bad losses, and is so emotional about his support, sometimes during postgame news conferences it appears his eyes fill with tears."

Harbaugh is 'working' the officials; that is why it is not as notorious. Many might consider it late game strategy.

definately, that will not be lost on many parents; but that was an act of unsportsmanlike behavior; he was not berating the kid for his play or an execution error. Bad, but it was disciplinary issue as oppsed to a tirade towards a players play.

As long as UF players play classy they won't fear coming to the sidelines! JMc was very contrite and apologetic.

But, it can't impress parents!
