I know we are not expected to land Foster Sarrell and I would take him in a heartbeat. But he has been beaten badly a few times with a speed rush. He is strong against the run, but he does not look like the #1 recruit in the country.

ND lost a WR target to Oregon State today. Not OU. No the kid was not from Oregon. The Blazers had to cancel an indoor game tonight because of bad weather so that is not a factor. Could it be coaching? If ND loses recruits to the Beavers there is a problem.
He had an offer from Alabama. Must be a coaching issue. Clueless
Sometimes kids make choices because of other factors. Perhaps they want to stay close to home, or they've been a fan of another school, or they feel they might be able to play early. Not every kid grows up worshiping ND like all of us on this board.
Stanford got the #1 offensive lineman yesterday and a whole lot of other schools wanted him. So, did all those coaches fail? Of course not. The kid made the choice that was best for him based upon all the factors taken into consideration. That's all.
While getting another receiver is desirable, at this point I care a hell of a lot more about getting some quality depth on our DL and holding this class of commits intact. Encouraged to see Elko and Pulian working to add a few DL targets and hopefully get a couple of these on campus n the coming weeks. Hard to make a recruiting splash this late in the game, made even harder by our record last season and all the coaching turnover and questions about Kelly's future, but there are some nice pieces out there that would close out this class nicely. A late haul of Cage and Pili and Thomas on the DL and Simmons and Brooks at LB would be a great finish in my opinion.
ND badly needs a few DE commits. With 4 last year and only 1 this year we probably need at least 2 more.
Such an unfair statement. Jamire Calvin has had issues with distance and leaving the West Coast the entire time. He's also borderline academically and likely would not be admitted into ND as of today. There are a lot of factors that go into recruiting.
Let the poaching begin! Time for an update, IIO? (Jordan Genmark-Heath is very intriguing as a safety and punt/kick returner!) And four d-lineman! Kinda of a different/interesting year for recruiting. Still a lot of question marks. Is it too late or can the Irish coaching staff pull off a "February Surprise?" Where is Comey when we need him!

Negative recruiting works both ways. Dont be surprised if more ND recruits flip to other prorams that actually went to bowl games this year.
And they still seem to be looking. Lets add safeties Even Field and Treshean Smith to your list. Both visit next week. Plus, to show that they are being discriminating, they allegedly passed on Simmons and Brooks, LBs I thought we really needed. Apparently, they think we are full at inside LB and need the oversized Safety like Tranquil to play rover.
The DE from Hawaii visits soon as well.
I really want Martin or Norwood to committ because they seem the most likely right now. Priming the pump.
