Why does ESPN always show ND with only 8 NT's?

They tend to show Bama with 40 or 50 and Michigan with 10.....

If there is some criteria for NT's not counting before a date, should that not apply to all?

1924 Knute Rockne Helms, CFRA, NCF 10–0 Won Rose
1929 Knute Rockne Helms, CFRA, NCF 9–0 –
1930 Knute Rockne Helms, CFRA, NCF 10–0 –
1943 Frank Leahy AP 9–1 –
1946 Frank Leahy AP 8–0–1 –
1947 Frank Leahy AP 9–0 –
1949 Frank Leahy AP 10–0 –
1966 Ara Parseghian AP, Coaches' 9–0–1 –
1973 Ara Parseghian AP 11–0 Won Sugar
1977 Dan Devine AP, Coaches' 11–1 Won Cotton
1988 Lou Holtz AP, Coaches' 12–0 Won Fiesta

Who gives a shit...

What's much more startling is look at the year on your list. 31 effing years ago since the last one.

And counting.

If you want ND to stop being mocked and start being the trendy flavor of the week then all they need to do is win some games like tonight.

This would be a non issue and we'd be an ESPN darling if we won games like these tonight.

They would hype us as much as anyone else. Maybe even more.

They already hype ND a significant amount and you can just tell some of the talking heads loathe it.

But ND is ratings.

Ahhh….88ND....if its not hour thread its bad.....Motivational speaker?

Anyway....I notice that everything ESPN shows is negative....."The last time ND beat a team that has a mascot with two O's in the name on a Thursday night was back in 1922"......Its always the most obscure facts…..I even heard Rese mention Cal beat ND back in 1977 while talking about Cal...WTF!! Did they meniton UGA lost to Texas in their bowl? Its just like Trump.....no matter what we do, there will be 10 things we didn't do...

Here is a stat ESPN could have used.

Posted on Twitter.

Notre Dame has never lost a game on Sept 21 (7-0) including wins over a 5th ranked Oklahoma (home) and 6th ranked Texas on road.

When you look into the history book and add them up like everybody else does then here we go: Rockne's teams were named national Champions by at least one poll in 1919 (9-0),1920 (9-0), 1924 (10-0), 1927 (7-1-1), 1929 (9-0), and 1930 (10-0). Elmer Layden's team won a title in 1937 (8-1). Fran Leahy's teams won titles in 1943 (9-1), 1946 (8-0-1), 1947 (9-0), 1949 (10-0), and 1953 (9-0-1). Ara Parseghian teams were named champions in 1964 (9-1), 1966 (9-0-1), 1967 (8-2), 1970 (10-1), 1973 (11-0), Dan Devine's team was named champion in 1977 (11-1), Lou Holtz teams were named champions in 1988 (12-0), 1989 (12-1), and 1993 (11-1). Brian Kelly's Irish was named in 2012 (12-1). Rockne (6), Layden (1), Leahy (5), Parseghian (5), Devine (1), Holtz (3), and Kelly (1). Total 22 National Champions.

Yes. Exactly what I am taking about. They show every other team that way. I saw they credited Michigan with 11 last year.

22 NT, 11 unanimous NT is accurate.

Watch game day today. It was on screen. Showed UGA with 1 and ND with 8.

They talked about the one against ND.

As big and bright as you could see it
