DUO,

ACC not looking too good this weekend...

Duo's beloved FSU lost by 3 scores (which I predicted by the way).

NCState lost to a weak South Carolina team.

Ranked Louisville squeaked by a horrible Purdue team.

Cal travels all the way across the country to beat UNC in a day game.

Better hope VT can beat WVU & GT can beat Tenn?

Sounds like FSU has bigger problems then losing a game. Lot there starting QB also. Hope he is not out to long.

We should want the ACC to win all of their non conference games given we have a tie in with that conference. Depending on who we play, it helps ND's strength of schedule when the ACC does well.

Man, Georgia Tech just gave that game away, two fumbles that both led to Tennessee TDs, and a killer penalty on a converted third down that made them kick a long FG which they missed. Tennessee never stopped them, they only stopped themselves.

Their defense will win them quite a few games, but its hard to imagine them beating Clemson with a new untested QB. Clemson is immediately the ACC favorite again.

Agree. Which is why it totally mystified me that Johnson went for two in that situation.

Now to see what a 6'5" 185 pound true freshman can do??? Hope he can take the hits! Get that young man some honey fried chicken!

This is not my fight but NDs plays USC, Stanford, Miami and Georgia while FSU is playing D2 Deleware State. They play a tougher schedule than the Criminoles as usual.

If you are going to compare schedules, compare top to top, middle to middle, bottom to bottom. Unless you think Delaware State is Fsu's best opponent.

Hey, you had said that the loser of the FSU-Ala game would most likely bounce back and get a chance to avenge their defeat in the title game. Do you still feel that way, or do you now suspect you greatly miscalculated the idea of the teams being close in talent?

That hit added new meaning to the term "lighten up Francois."

Francois being lost for the season and replaced by a true freshman changes everything. Going from a Heisman candidate to an untested freshman is day and night. My guess is opposing DC's will do everything they can to go after the freshman.

Potential losses now include:

Miami
Louisville
Clemson
Florida

From a fan's perspective I would say most would now realistically be happy to make a New Year's Day 6 Bowl. (While hoping for the playoffs of course.). So, we shall see. CFB is full of crazy turns and twists...........guess that's why we love it! :D

Florida and Michigan St. are going to end up comparable. I could see Florida beating Georgia at home...Clemson and Bama are two top 5 teams. Stop it Epic. I like that your bringing back all the handles though. This reminds me of the old days.

Correction: the bad old days.

G Tech's offense was ripping through the Vol defense. And vice versa. Johnson knew his defense was gassed and it was getting progressively worse.

Maybe so, but Tennessee wasn't about to stop GaTech's offense. Why not wait until the third OT when both team must go for two?

Near the end of the game GT could not tackle Kelly, they were worn out. I thought is was a great move, it just didn't work.

78, Tech was going to have the ball first in OT #3, so making the 2 pt conversion doesn't win the game. If I am taking the risk, I want the game to be over if I score.

I realize this. But after two OT's, both teams are obliged to go for two. I would have waited until then. Considering how Tennessee never stopped Tech's offense the entire game, I didn't think there was any need to go for two in the second OT.

That's why it was such a terriible decision to go for 2 on the 2nd overtime. Kick the extra point and then have a chance to stop TN on their 2 point attempt on the next OT. TN was never going to stop GT from scoring. He wanted to get to the 3rd overtime where he would then have the advantage. Think he got scared and paniced.

It wasn't terrible but I would have still sent the kicker out after UT burns their own timeout. Also what was with that last play? Was their even an option?
