Can compare this unknown 2017-18 Team with the 1993 squad?Just going over the 1993 team. RBs Ray Zellars,Lee Becton,Jeff Burris .WRs Lake Dawson ,Derrick Mayes. OL players Tim Ruddy, Arron Taylor . Defensive linemen and linebackers Renaldo Wynn, Bryant Young, Jim Flanagan , Bert Berry and defensive back Bobby Taylor . These are some of the players that went on to the NFL and several of these had All-pro careers . Also some of these players were ranked very highly by the pro scouts and expected to be first round picks even before the 1993 season began .
Also I might have missed some of the names of players on the 1993 team that went on to pro ball.

This 2017-18 has a ways to go to match the 1993 squad .

And another thing . I AM hoping this year's team has a great season Am wishing like the rest of the ND faithful . Being optimistic .

I'm with you Tommy. If he can't win 9+ games with this roster there is something wrong at the top.
With all the weapons on offense, ND should be able to outscore 9 teams this year.

I tend to agree that a four loss season with this talent following last year's debacle is unacceptable, and Kelly should be held to account. Don't think the ND faithful will be lulled into accepting mediocrity as an indication of success after abject failure. But, why spend time thinking and writing about a four loss season and the implications for Kelly. Prefer to be cautiously optimistic that all the changes Kelly made this off season are going to pay huge dividends, and the won loss record will reflect this. Hoping for 12-0 along with Bodi, but expecting 10-2.

Bodi is the eternal optimist - and there is nothing wrong with that at all. He is the board cheerleader and has been accused more than once of donning the rose colored glasses.

I did not compare the 2017 Irish team to the 1993 team ! I said this was the most talented Irish team since the1993 team ! But I do not think this years Irish will lose to BC ! Go Irish !! Make the playoffs !!

It's hard to argue that this team might just be better then every team since 1993, at least on paper. But then again those teams over the last 23 years have not been good either. 2012 and 2015 being the best of the bunch. Lots of question marks on this team starting with the QB position. Kelly's job is on the line with a QB with no experience.

This team will more then double last years win total. Make the playoffs, well I doubt that and I am okay with that. However there must be a marked improvement over last year and not just in wins. Kelly needs to build a program not a football team.

He's a homer like Phil Rizzuto for the Yanks. BUT he's our homer and I'd rather have him then a Debbie downer. I do agree with you Izo. This years NFL top rounds were littered with former 5 and 4 star players.

With the exception of maybe McGlinchey and Nelson ,I don't see the college magazines giving a lot of attention on their All-American predictions to any of the ND players like they did with Smith , Floyd ,Rudolph, Stanley Fuller, Z. Martin,Te'o , Eifert ,Tuitt, Nix , H. Smith. .Even players like Tate , Procise ,Watt, Riddick and some others were expected to go anywhere from the second to the fifth rounds
