Wimbush!

I think another year would have helped DK. However, no way does he want to play another year for Kelly.

ND now has to start a guy that is super talented but has never started nor has he felt the pressure of being the starting qb at ND.

I am a huge BW fan. I love the athleticism he brings plus the huge arm strength.

Oops, I was wrong. It benefits one other person. Brian Kelly! Now Kelly has the excuse for why the season goes bad next year. He will say Wimbush is good but he is still learning. A young qb will be his excuse.

Your second sentence is the key. Both McShay and Kiper said DK would benefit by coming back for another year but at no time did either analyst address how specifically BK would make DK better. All they offered was hollow advice. At this point the evidence suggests the longer a QB plays for BK the worse they get. It should also be noted that, besides the BK effect, there is also a correlation between offensive line play and QB performance. The 2 best QB years under BK also coincide with the 2 best O-line years - 2012 and 2015. So all in all, DK was faced with playing for a coach that hasn't shown he can develop QB's at ND, playing behind an O-line which may or may not improve in 2017, and losing his QB coach. I think DK made the right decision to not risk coming back for another potentially bad year and taking his chances in the 2017 draft.

Was going to happen sooner (2017) or later (2018) -- may as well start now with a load of talent coming back. Plus, he ahs all spring and summer to get ready - unlike Kizer, who got thrown to the wolves in 2015 (due to injury).

This ^^ 100% percent. Not only Kelly's but ND fans who keep making excuses also.

What is wrong with some of you guys. Be happy we are putting guys in the pros. Its a good think for Kelly that guys are going pro, that's what most recruits care about "not the history of Notre Dame."

Nice to have a super talented guy become the first time starting QB with the entire OL returning, the 2015 and 2016 starting TEs, starting slot, W and RB. He doesn't have to do it all, just like Golson his first year starting.

Plus, He could be the starter for 3 years potentially, although if he does well, he won't be around that long.

I also think Book could succeed in this situation. Game management and letting others be the star is the goal. Not Heisman QB.

You are right it benefits one person. DK, he will makes millions for the next 5-7 years. Who wouldn't leave? He could very possibly be the second pick in the draft why would he stay

My Bears need a qb badly. Do any of you think Da Bears might pick him. Of course it could be bad for DK to be picked by Da Bears given their history with qb's .

Fall to the skins. Sign K Cousins to another 1 year show me franchise tag and let DK get the grooming he needs from some very talented coaching, anything is better than what he has been getting so far (except in cleveland)

Wrong...

It benefits one person ...Kizer.

Kizer has the measurables for Sunday. Throws off his back foot too much and they will eat him alive on Sunday until he fixes it.

But make no mistake he NEEDS to get as far away and as quickly ...get the hell away from Kelly.

Kelly regresses our players and Kizer is no different. He looked more experienced and had a better impact as a semi green freshman.

Think about that. Just like all other players...no progression...lots of regression.

Very sad.
