My son and I had the same observation, that the teams had switched uniforms and the blue team was actually USC. Seriously, the Irish manifested the speed and physicality usually attributed to the Trojans. Go Irish! ☘️

I hope so. I think if the passing game improves then this offense will be lethal. We just saw how a few completions , two for TDs, opened up the running game. That was the key. SC couldn't put 8 and 9 men up there because they were afraid to get burned with a big pass play. Hopefully each week they get better throwing.

Yeah it is!! Big Brass Balls! Re-watched the Youtube Catholics vs. Convicts game and there's a distinct similarity in the style of aggression on the boys this year. Will it yield a playoff berth? Who knows, but man is it fun to watch.

They've been fun to watch, and no mistake. But last year and 2014 are fresh enough memories that I'm constantly praying the wheels don't fall off.

Just saying. The 89 team would have put a beat down on this team, plus this team probably would have lost at least 5 games with the schedule the 89 team played. But, I do hope this team puts a beat down on the rest of their opponents, including Alabama.

This is too easy. Notre Dame is dominating college football like I said they would do in April. They should have never have lost to the dawgs but they played them tough and the team has used that loss as a springboard to a National Championship run.

Yes we have very similar paths. Dad played center for Lombardi at Saint Cecelia in 39 and 40. Mickey and dad were good friends. Dad loved Lombardi and Mickey. Mickey was a great athlete at Saints. Was a star on the hoop team which Lombardi also coached to a State championship.
Our Dads probably knew each other. The world is small sometimes.

I like the sentiment, but ‘89 didn’t “flinch”; it was beaten by a better team in a place where that better team literally never lost games. That Miami team massively out gained the Irish in the ‘88, ‘89, ’90 games in aggregate, had many more first downs, etc., and could have easily won all three games. Miami was that good. It was incredible that Holtz was able to beat that team twice.

We might not ever have it again as Holtz was a master preparer and motivater. Make no mistake about it—we had a plethora of talent between 1987 and 1993, but we were also able to beat teams that on paper were better than we were. Holtz was just a genius.

This will be the next biggest game of the season against a quality opponent at home and the Irish will dominate coming off an impressive win and a very jack up home crowd to feed the beast.

The defense will to continue to shine, the running game continues to wear down the opposing defense and allow BW to grow in the passing game which must improve to compete if the Irish were to get a playoff spot (no conference ties will not help)
